Wild kingdom has a golf course!

Gators, raccoons, exotic birds and a beautiful swamp setting for a quality golf course. Club house and restaurant are build with cypress paying respect for the once thriving worlds largest cypress mill. And the food offering consisting of true Cajun cuisine is well beyond the typical golf grill offering.

Only negative was the missing tee markers and general tee box condition on most of the holes.

Really nice layout. Very challenging with lots of trees and trouble all around. New carts with gps which is a plus. Only real downside was the greens were very spongy and slow.

Atchafalaya coming back slowly but surely

This course has my favorite layout of any course in the Acadiana area. The greens were slow and hairy but I believe it is for the upcoming warmer months and more players. Fairways are great! Had issue with cart, but someone came with a replacement before we left the green.

I for sure plan to go back in a month or two to see the turnout of their planned progress.

Atchafayla at Idlewild

Course is getting back in shape after year of poor conditions. Bunkers, fairways and greens are in much better shape. Greens are nice but very slow due to height of grass. Should be much better when they are cut to normal heights. Overall the course is good but not like when it first open.

Now the carts is a different story. Pretty pathetic carts for such a nice course.
