Sand traps are getting long needed attention an they are looking good

The surroundings are beautiful and pure Louisiana, however, the course is simply not in great shape right now. The greens were extremely inconsistent. Some were good, some were OK and some were awful. The fairways are extremely thin and in some cases, it was like hitting off of concrete. The layout and surroundings honestly give Atchafalaya the potential to be the BEST course in the State, but it seems as though the TLC is just not there. I’ll keep returning though, with hopes that it eventually returns to its former glory.

We come down to play in the area twice a year and love this course. But sometimes its condition doesn’t measure up to what it should be. This was one of those times. Partly because of the recent freezing weather, the greens were not in good shape. Many of the traps were still under repair. For the price this was disappointing.

Excellent layout threaded through Bald Cypress lined wetlands. Greens feature fair action and speed. Fairway mounding can present a variety of lies and influence tee selection. Bunkering should be freshly refurbished soon.

Can NOT wait to play here again in the spring and summer!

This is a nice layout, well bunkered, water hazards attractive routing. It appears to be a high-quality course that has not been kept up recently. I did of course play it while the grass was dormant so I have no complaints about that but the fairways were completely free of live grass. Most of the greens were nice although some of them were died out and very spotty. The courses not as well-kept as the layout would promise. I hope they are able to put more money and maintenance in the course because the layout certainly deserves it.

I love this course but the fairways have never been aerated so most fairways are like hard pan. Sometimes you have a better lie in the rough. They are working on the bunkers finally which is good. I'll be back as I live close but they need to put some money into the course to get it nice again.

The course is starting to look like the Atchafalaya of old. The hard work is duly noted. The front nine bunkers have been relieved of the weeds and real sand is being installed. There were a few holes on the back nine where the landscaping crew was actively working. It's great to see the work that is being put in to get the course back to a 5-star course. The layout is great and provides golfers of all levels a challenge. The green fees come with complimentary range balls. The pace of play is excellent. I played 18 holes in 3 hours. I would recommend this course. Expect it to be back to 5-star by the spring.

Course is improving. Bunkers are coming back and greens are still in great shape. Forget how nice a layout it is with plenty of risk reward as well as challenging holes. Great test of golf.
