The Atchafalaya at Idlewild

The front few greens and tee boxes are under repair but that’s the price you pay for improvement. For the money, this is my favorite course.

The greens were in poor shape. The ball did not roll smoothly due to improper maintenance. This course has a great, yet challenging layout with nice fairways. However, the greens need a lot of work.

Very nice course, but some t boxes were being redone and most of the greens are in pretty bad shape and all are very slow. Also some bunkers have weeds growing.

Still enjoyed playing it but could be in a lot better condition

The greens were very patchy with sand and growth. They had 2 holes where the flag was placed in the fairway due to the greens being in bad shape. The water coolers were low on water and they didn't have a cart person riding around to help with liquids in the 100+ heat. This course was once very nice but now is a complete joke for the money they want. I go to Berwicks course which is very maintained and always friendly.

It has been hot and dry, but the greens were extremely slow and bumpy. Two greens were under major repair and the holes were placed in front of them on the fairway. The fairways were hard (expected with the dry conditions and extreme heat), but they had good grass on them. Love the layout of this course, so it would be great if the condition was at least average or better.

Staff was awesome. Restaurant was awesome. Pro shop was nice.

Course…not so much!!

Most tee boxes honestly looked like they had weed killer poured on them.

Greens were horrendous. Terrible!! Not one was even 80% “good”!!

Layout of course was very nice, almost like a wildlife tour!

I was perfectly fine paying $60 green fee until I got to first hole!! Definitely not worth that and won’t be until they put some money into those greens.

Greens and tee boxes are in horrible condition probably the worst I’ve every seen on any golf course and they charge full price

The course is amazing. I drove in from Lafayette to see and play. I was very disappointed in the condition of the greens and T-boxes. They are in really bad shape. For a course with so much potential, they need a great deal of TLC. Beautifull course though.

Morning started great with very friendly helpful checkin but it was all downhill after that…

First tee box, and several more looked like they had been treated with grass killer, no joke.

Greens were absolutely horrendous. Not one out of 18 was in even “good” shape!

Course layout and scenic quality is awesome!! But course condition was horrible.

Achafalaya is a great place to play and always fun, you can see they are putting in work to update the course and they recently updated the golf carts. Very nice an we will be back

Beautiful layout. Good fairways. Real rough. Fantastic clubhouse and restaurant.

Negatives: Greens were bad. Super spongy. Super slow and most greens have lost at least 30% of surface area due to disease or fungus. If they get that cleared up, the value was fantastic.

I had a great day playing, I hit them straight and long that day.

Fairways and most tee boxes were in great shape! Wildlife was out and about. The greens were in pretty bad shape. Lots of dead grass and sprouts of other grasses making them very bumpy and slow. The greens on 16-18 were the best on the course.
