Four Mile Ranch Golf Club sprawls across a stunning landscape of gently rolling hills. The layout closely follows the natural contours of the terrain and doesn't use any formal bunkers, in their place are white shale ridges called hogbacks. They can range anywhere in height from 3 to 30 feet and they're not even the golf course's only distinctive feature. The layout winds through natural rock outcropping and a number of mini canyons. It's as challenging as it is scenic, though, with several blind shots and intimidating greens, none of which are more daunting than that on the memorable par-5 sixth. This tough green is obscured by huge rocks, testing not only your skills but also your ability to strategize. Four Mile Ranch G.C. offers a golf experience like none other in the area.

Great time

Tough course can score low if you play smart really good conditions for it still being winter only thing I would like to see added would be gps on carts so you can see if the group is in front of you due to a lot of blind shots but overall great time staff is amazing as always

4 Mile fun

Always a nice drive south from COS. Friendly staff.

Always in pretty nice shape, just surprised it’s cart path only! Wish they’d consider 90 degree rule or even permit to drive in the rough. Also, not one water station in the entire course, even at the turn to #10.

Will be back again! Thank you

Excellent but Quirky

Overall I highly recommend this course! As others have said there are definitely some placement holes and blind shots into some undulated greens. However it's definitely worth the drive down to Canon City. I played about six times during the '25 season and the course was in excellent shape all summer long. Priced reasonably and the only thing they're lacking in is items in the pro shop and food and beverage. Not a reason not to go play but just wanted to point that out since they're a little out of the way.

A challenging course

Requires accuracy from tee box to cup. The fairways on several holes will narrow down significantly at critical spots that require arrow straight drives. If you are off the fairway, your ball is lost 90% of the time due to the shale rock hills and cedar trees. The greens are what make the course so challenging. They are huge rolling swells, taco shell shapped, and the plateau/valley type greens. Several greens are "blind" due to the topograghy of the rolling shale hills, and flag locations are marked by a white pole with a red handle sticking out. 3 putts are pretty common if you are not within 10 feet of the pin.

Good course, well kept. No cart girl, as well as limited drinks and food. Staff was friendly.

Greens make the course

Course is not overly difficult,....until you get on the greens. They are very challenging. Very rolling and well maintained. Fairways are inrealy good shape. Nice to hit off of. Off the fairways,..... it is incredibly difficult to find your ball and almost impossible to escape without a drop.

Very challenging

Multiple hidden greens, most greens have significant elevation changes demanding good putting skills. Fairways are nice to hit off of. Course is not conducive for walking as there 8s quiete a bit of elevation changes throughout the course. It should be noted that the elevation for the area is over 5280 feet anyway. The course has a beautiful setring tucked up against the base of the foothills. The views are spectacular. Hydration is a must while playing there.
