Four Mile Ranch Golf Club
About
Four Mile Ranch Golf Club sprawls across a stunning landscape of gently rolling hills. The layout closely follows the natural contours of the terrain and doesn't use any formal bunkers, in their place are white shale ridges called hogbacks. They can range anywhere in height from 3 to 30 feet and they're not even the golf course's only distinctive feature. The layout winds through natural rock outcropping and a number of mini canyons. It's as challenging as it is scenic, though, with several blind shots and intimidating greens, none of which are more daunting than that on the memorable par-5 sixth. This tough green is obscured by huge rocks, testing not only your skills but also your ability to strategize. Four Mile Ranch G.C. offers a golf experience like none other in the area.

Such a Gem
South of Colorado Springs by about 40 minutes (depending on the part of town you leave from), this hidden gem is a fantastic course! Taking SH115, you see beautiful farmland and Fort Carson, a very pleasant drive.
The condition of the course is beautiful!! Gorgeous fairways & greens were a complete surprise! The elevation is approximately 6300’, so plenty of hydration & snacks is recommended on high heat days (it was 94 degrees when we played).
The 7th hole is a complete surprise!! A long par 5, be sure to watch for the white pole on the hill, which shows the direction of the green!
We will definitely play again!

Tough for a first round
I got lucky and had a couple of regulars playing with me otherwise I would have had no clue where to aim on a number of holes. As with most of the courses around here keeping the ball in the fairway is the key. Probably not going g to fing your ball in the brush.
That said I enjoyed my round. It longer than normal due to the bozos in front of us playing what appeared to be a best ball and moving very slowly. A ranger could have possibly resolved that.
I will come back again
Great Course
T boxes were green and easy to hit from. Fairways challenging but green and greens were definitely a challenge from were smooth and fast.
Crazy course.
Course layout can be extremely forgiving or extremely difficult. Don’t hit the wrong side of the green or you’ll find yourself putting four and five strikes before it goes into the hole. Staff is extremely friendly, especially the ranger. He will not push to play faster. He understands you paid your money and he wants you to have a good time with the guys. Definitely will play here again.
4mile
Course was in great shape. I go there to play once or twice every year. This is a course that I have to play every time I go to visit my brother.
Course is in great shape but the driving range is closed.
Unique Course
Course was in great shape. There were a few hidden greens that presented a unique challenge. They had no sand traps, but don't let that fool you. They have plenty of rough/native areas. It appeared the golf shop was temporary, so they didn't have the usual golf stuff, but they had soft drinks, beer and snacks. We are playing again next week.
Great shape
The course was in great shape. The greens were very receptive. Awesome course!
Demands accuracy and exceptional putting skills
Course has a lot of up and down play. Several greens have "BLIND" approaches. You literally can not see them until you walk up/down to them. It is almost impossible to find your balls if they leave course of play. The course demands accuracy from t-box to green. Greens have LOTS of undulations creating plateau/valley effects. The course is in great shape! Just stay on the course! A fun time to be had by all that play it!
Great course
This course was fun and challenging but not too challenging. Nice variety.
Very challenging
Course fairways, tee boxes, greens in great shape! Very rolling terrain, unforgiving off fairways, greens very rolling and difficult. Some holes have greens you can not even see as they are hidden behind small rolling hills covered in rock and juniper trees! A very fun course that absolutely requires accuracy from the tee box to the green!
A head scratcher…
I appreciate Jim Engh’s golf course design style, but I think he went a little off the rails with some of the holes on this course. You ever played a par 3 where you can’t see any part of the green or the flag stick? You just hit it and hope you’re close? You will here. Some of the greens are huge with massive slopes and you’re praying to make 8 footers for your two putts. The design is very unique and on a lot of holes very fun and imaginative, but it’s get unfair and silly at times. It’s not fun to hit good golf shots into greens and have mini golfing greens determining your scoring. We were surprised to find that on a holiday weekend the driving range was closed, there were no food options, and no clubhouse. I wouldn’t come back.
Great Course
Fairways are green, greens are smooth and fairly quick, pace of play was great. Overall, I look forward to playing the course on a weekly basis.
Hidden Gem
This was an awesome course. Views were great, staff were friendly, and course was nice and very challenging, which is hard to find sometimes on the front range with blind holes. Downside was no driving range, but sounds like they are trying to get that part sorted!
A diamond in the rough
Was in town from the KC area and was staying in Colorado Springs. Love playing golf courses that are near to where I’m staying. Folks you have to play this course. The course is unique and depending on which tee box your playing from can become difficult really quickly. The greens are large but the undulations is extreme. You better know how to read greens and better have good knowledge of your ball speed.Course is very scenic, valued wonderful, excellent condition, and staff was excellent. The only downside to this course was the size of the clubhouse and no water stations on the course.
In closing I would have to say this course was a 10/10 and I would play it again in a heartbeat.
This course was in great shape
Great looking course. Greens are in great shape. Very difficult course with blind shots and sloping greens.
Challenging greens
Course is in good shape, very well maintained. Poor weather on this outing but was able to stay dryish.
Can't wait to see the improvements over the next 5 years.
