Golfer Reviews
Not the same St Joseph’s bay
If you have played this course in years past, it is miles better than you remember. Great job by the super and staff.
Trim the rough
I am 71 and I played from the gold tees which was about 5800 hundred yards. On every tee the fairways look very wide however the actual trimmed fairways are pretty narrow the second cut rough is encouraging in on both sidles making actual fairway hitting surface narrow. The second cut is ball loosing depth and what I would call the third cut is just back yard grass. Please trim the second cut down a little to keep a reasonable tee shot from becoming a time wasting ball search and slug fest. Thanks
A Gem of a Course!
We were vacationing with a large group of friends. We were so pleased to find a well conditioned course so convenient to the Port St Joe beaches! The friendly staff made us feel welcome. Plus they had a very nice selection of rental clubs available. The course was fair and easy to see the appropriate places to drive your ball to or lay up if necessary. No blind shots! We're definitely looking forward to a future visit.
Course in nice shape, especially greens.
Really enjoyed my vacation round of golf. Will definitely play it again.
Not with the price
Tee boxes uneven and with divots. Fairway was bald in many places. Greens were bumpy.
Nice course
Good little course, first time playing this year nice seeing all the renovations that have been done since the last time I was here. Changes have made the course more aesthetically pleasing.
Average at best
I was in from out of town, and evaluating courses in the area. I was hoping that St Joseph's Bay was going to be a jewel, but I was sadly disappointed. The course was not in great shape. The greens, tee boxes, and fairways were rough with many bare spots. I didn't play on a single green where I didn't have the opportunity to fix a half dozen or more ball marks, which I did because play was so slow. The rough looked like it hadn't been cut in a few weeks. I was given a scorecard that had no distances, or even what Par was, no hole pictures, or anything useful on it.
Play was so slow that I left after 9 holes. It took me almost 2.5 hours to play 9.
The only good thing was the layout. I enjoyed that.
For the price I paid (about $70), I was expecting more.
Horrible staff
Horrible experience. Staff incompetent. Spent the day behind a group of 5 as a twosome. No staff to regulate. Desk was also rude.
Course in good shape
Good layout most greens and fairways in good shape given the lack of rain
Unplayable
Greens are unputtable with canyons running through. Fairways were 50/50 grass, dirt….sometimes mud. Super friendly staff for sure.. ow….and the yardage is off on the practice range, way off. Not a snob, but I play once every weekend, this place will be a pass for me moving forward.
