Best course in the area
This course is in its best shape right now..many challenges bring your A game..
best course ive played this year
wasn't expecting this quality ...awesome conditions and the layout is the best, I mean the best!!! Laid back feeling in the country but I love it. Played a few months ago and is better than that, new bunker sand really sets off layout and kid in clubhouse said try burger on the turn...it was incredible!! Its different than a normal course, no houses no traffic and not far from MAson where I live i'm hoodked...
Great Layout
Always a great time here. Nice layout, great value. Cannot go wrong.
The layout is awesome
The course starts out with a simple/short par 4 that is slightly downhill. The challenge begins on hole 2 with two different landing areas that are short and tight, lined with trees. This theme keeps up with the holes having either trees or long fescue guarding the rough. A good amount of elevation changes, few blind tee shots and lovely greens that roll nicely. May want to either bring your A game or a few extra golf balls. Love the challenge this course brings. Play can slow a bit with people looking for their lost golf balls and the course is usually packed all day.
Drought!?!?!
Tee to green this course is average or just above. Fairways and greens are quite hard and even good shots would end up in a random positions on (or next to greens and fairways) after bouncing around. It seems they do not water it enough? Talking about water there was none on the course and we were not told this... half a bottle of Gatorade in the sun at +100 degrees is not enough. I feel all courses should have drinking water out and if not at least tell your guests as most expect it to be out there. I would play it again but not any time soon. Also a better course guide would be good as many tee shots (placement and distance) is a guess with a poor or hidden view of the landing areas.
cool place to play
course was in great shape have done a lot of work since last year the relaxed feeling and natural views make this place the best ive played in southern ohio unbelievable layout with breath taking views and everyone was friendly
Fast pace!
Found the course online and enjoyed playing it! Even though it is out in the country the course is in great shape and was a challenge!
Beautiful property
Fun course. No houses near. Good price. Traps were being improved.
Beautiful fall colors!
Always enjoy playing Majestic--this time of year the scenery if spectacular. Course is in great shape. I hope the weather stays nice so I can get in a few more rounds.
beautiful scenery awsome course
played three times this year , this is gonna be home base now. Best course in southern ohio Not a house in sight love it!!! no other layout comes close to these views and conditions cheers
Hidden treasure
This course was awesome. It was in fantastic shape and the greens were just rolling perfectly. Fairways are in great shape, and except for some touchy bunkers, the course was absolutely amazing. Best bang for the buck!
Good value
I've been aware of this course, but had never played it. There's a lot the course has going for it, but my overall experience was average. The layout of the course isn't bad. I enjoyed the back more than the front with the exception of a throw away par 3 followed up by a pinball par 5. The fairways were in decent shape but most of the tee boxes were bad and the greens looked like ball marks are rarely fixed by its patrons. The staff was very friendly and we didn't have any food or beverages. One thing the staff could improve on is explaining to those playing golf what it means to let faster groups play through, particularly when it may be their first time ever playing golf. We were only able to finish 15 holes directly because we sat behind a threesome of golfers that didn't have a clue. Eventually we drove around them as they obviously we're not aware or were hellbent on not letting us through. Once we went around them we didn't have to wait again the entire round. The price of this course makes it very attractive, but also lends itself to drawing in very inexperienced players. This is definitely not something I'm against as I've got two newer players of my own, but even at their young age and experience level they know golf etiquette and allow faster players to play through as well as fixing their ball marks. I'm willing to give the course another try and hope the experience will allow me to rate the course higher.
Intrigued
Decided to try this course because it looked interesting from satellite view. Was pleasantly surprised. Now this course is in the country and doesn't have paved cart paths and seriously lacks yardage markers (only 150 sticks). But, the layout and fairways are real and nice and I loved the greens! Not super fast and did what you thought they would do! Unlike some really unfair CC greens I've played. Course was over booked the day we went so play was slow 5 hrs to play 18 (3 some). But all and all, bring some electronic yardage help and enjoy and pretty nice enjoyable track! Will come back.
Very scenic
20 to 30 minute wait on second hole and very slow from that point on.
Good Course
The course is fairly well kept. Challenge with several elevation changes. Price is good.
Great value
Friend from out of town wanted to play 9. First time at this course. What a surprise. Nice track, pretty well maintained, and fun to play. I will go back.
unbelievable keep it up
played in am wasn't expecting so many improvements this year. This is the best natural layout you will ever play had a lot of run this is now my favorite course love the staff and the country setting nothing compares to it in southern ohio
Growing up
Have played since opening. Lots of issues thru the years. Improvements along the way. The course keeps improving.
Nice hidden gem in the country
This has become my favorite "home course". The fees are extremely reasonable, the course conditions are good, not great but good. If you go later in the day beware of the backup on #2, the creek crosses through the fairway twice and boy does it hold up play. Several holes on this course challenge your course management. If you keep your shots between the first cuts of the rough you'll enjoy this course. If you tend to go beyond the first cuts, bring plenty of balls along with you. The greens have started getting battered as of late, but this is due to the golfers. I wish they would make every hacker learn how to fix their ball marks, aka divots to the novices. My #1 pet peeve being an ex greens-keeper.
The snack bar (the caddie shack) has GOOD food and very friendly staff. The staff at Majestic try to make your visit the best it can be.
My only complaints would be restroom facilities out on the course (more appropriate lack of them) and more water jugs for those of us that don't buy drinks from the drink cart.
Overall I really like this course. Many times in the past I turned down offers play Majestic to go elsewhere. I know now that I should have gone there in the first place.
Challenging
A mix of simple and very difficult golf holes, play appropriate tees. Excellent pace of play, our threesome played the in <4 hours. The only downside were the greens - they were pretty beaten up.
The outdoor grill boasted the Best Burgers... they're right!
