Play here frequently
I play this par 3 course frequently and you kind of just get used to the tee boxes not being in good condition and the greens being full of unrepaired divots, it is still a fun course and worth the money for the layout. The past few times we have been out here though staff has been a little…. Unsettled to put it the best. For instance we went out on the 4th and I used GolfNow to book and used all my points to save me and a buddy some money. We purchased a full 18, but, the front 9 was flooded so we were instructed by the front desk to play the back 9 twice. We had no problem with that seeing as we were getting our full 18 holes in and also there is 2 par 4s and a couple long par 3s on the back 9 so that worked out for us. When we got to the turn and went back to 10 to tee off we sat at the tee box for 25 minutes waiting on TWO sixsomes that had teed off and was taking their sweet time. We were a little annoyed but not mad enough to complain or leave. When we finally got to tee off we were approached by the course Marshall and he accused us of not having paid for a full 18…. So I kindly said no sir we come here frequently and I assure you I paid… he immediately replied back with “well I’m just confused how it’s taking so long to shoot (as the 2nd 6some is STILL walking off the green… I’m not usually one to complain or cause waves but there was at least 6 people on the practice green right next to us watching the whole encounter and were baffled that just happened… and to say the least was a bit embarassing as we were completely in the right and were treated as if we didn’t belong… usually it has always been a pleasant experience but the last few times it just seems the staff is a bit disoriented hope this doesn’t last as this is a great practice course that I love to play 1-2 times a week
Don’t waste your time or money
Poor decisions by the manager When double booking teetimes, and offering too many teetimes for the various skill level that comes on this course. The course was behind by over an hour and a half due to double booking teetimes, and too many teetimes in general. Uneducated booking staff
Too many people
I know this is a par 3 course, but for goodness sakes when you see that there’s 2-3 parties behind you, it’s not a good time to hunt for golf balls and practice on the green after someone has already teed off. Post something about heads up golf for inexperienced players.
Thank you for sharing your experience and suggestions. We apologize for any inconvenience and will consider your feedback to improve the pace of play.
Horrible
Had an 11:44 tee time yesterday 6/22/24. We arrive at roughly 11:35, get checked in and as we’re checking in I notice there’s a decent number of people waiting to tee off on the new hole one. So I ask the guy “anyway we can start on 10?”. With this smug attitude and look on his face he goes “no! EVERYONE is starting on hole 1.” I asked him to look behind him at the tee box to see how many people were waiting to tee off (I counted 10 people before we even left the clubhouse). He responded again with “I don’t need to turn around and look, I know who is teeing off here, carts are outside.” Ok, whatever. We pull up to the tee box only to realize the 2 some and 4 some in front of us had tee times after ours but had already teed off or in the process of. Long story short, we played 9 holes (paid for 18) in 2.5 hours. Waiting 12-20/ hole is absolutely absurd. Absolutely ridiculous on a par 3 course. The tee boxes were absolutely horrible, greens have ball marks all over them. This place has been run into the ground. The “Marshalls” if you want to call them that, drove by ATLEAST 6 Times and saw the backup on.every.hole and just waved and kept going. I’ll never come back here again and you couldn’t pay me to play here. Oh and also, the guy running the bar after we were finished, I stood there for 6 mins before he even got up off the stool he was sitting on only to point me in the direction of a water fountain when I asked for a to- go cup of ice water.
Good Par 3 Course
Love the course…. People need to fix their divots but overall a good course to practice on. The pace of play can be a challenge…. Waiting 5-7 minutes playing behind three groups of four can get make for a long round. My suggestion would be to try a stagger tee offs between to front and back holes.
Good for beginners.
Thie greens were in good shape but very slow. Tee boxes were terrible. Could hardly get a tee in the ground, hardly any grass on them. When we made the turn we discovered they let some kids who were playing a tournament the next day go in front of us. Had to wait a long time on every hole after that. I don’t know why they didn’t send them out on #1 instead of holding everyone who paid for and was playing 18 holes.
You get what you pay for
Pheasant Run is a fun Par 3 course. It has 3 holes where Par is 4. Overall conditions are good, but not great. Tee boxes are overgrown or absolutely dirt/mud. Greens are full of goose droppings or other hazards that make putting a nightmare.
We did see a Marshal making sure pace was good so that was nice.
We only saw 1 water cooler and 2 ball cleaners.
You get what you pay for.
Thank you for your honest feedback and for noting our efforts to maintain pace of play. We apologize for the conditions mentioned and are actively working to improve our course maintenance for a better experience.
Horrible
Tee times mean nothing. Full of very slow players and no one says anything. Lots of singles and twosomes. The staff doesn't care. We were told to start on 10 and then a marshal told us we shouldn't have. This particular marshal has been rude and ignorant to us before. It could be a nice practice course for the short game but be not worth the time.
