Horrible course conditions and pace of play.
This course charges way too much money for the condition of the course. They also pack way too many people in to the tee times. Expect to wait. Will never go back again.
$93 is a joke
Rate hike to $93 is ridiculous. Already overprice for how easy it is and average public course conditions...it's out of the rotation.
Do Not Play
Charged $80 and every green is absolutely awful condition.
Needs work
Have played here numerous times over the years and will say this past Friday August 8th extremely disappointed in the shape of the course, especially the greens.. or should say the dirt.. have never seen the greens like this before.. not sure if they caught some disease but not much grass and no one seems to fix there ball marks extremely disappointing for so many golfers to care so little about helping take care of the course.. would have hated to have paid their every day non discounted rate and then experienced the course in such poor shape especially with new ownership and wanting you to join their membership which includes the Bluffs and golf club of Wentzville.. really tried to sell us on the fact that you could have unlimited range balls but the only course that has a range is the bluffs which we also played a few weeks prior and some of their greens were not in the best shape. not sure what has happened, but I’m glad I didn’t pay top dollar for either course.
Gotta warn a brutha
They are suffering from a fungus on the greens. It was not reflected in the price, and it was suspicious that the green by the clubhouse was in good condition.
Yikes
Been around the Links of Dardenne for most of my life. Tees and fairways have always been okay… nothing to write home about. Dips/ruts in the fairways as long as I can remember but still playable. However, the greens are all completely dead now. Some of the worst greens I’ve seen. I played a course in KY after an EF4 Tornado and the greens looked better. $65+ for this course is a joke.
Only positive note - the new carts were great!
Nice round overall
Played Sunday (Aug 3) and am a return visitor. It’s an enjoyable course that’s quite forgiving - quite open with relatively few fairway hazards. Off the fairway, be prepared to lose your ball in deep rough/woods.
This time however, many of the greens were in pretty rough shape with numerous scorched /bare patches and crabgrass in places. Not experienced this before here, so maybe the recent extreme heat had taken a toll. Also the pace of play was slow, with a couple of par 4’s before the turn having three 4-balls waiting to tee off. Never had that before. Perhaps the 8min spacing between groups needs to be increased at peak times and/or have more active marshaling of slow play (didn’t see any marshals on this occasion)
The above said, it was an enjoyable round and a nice course to play. Staff have always been friendly.
Stinky Links
The Links at Dardenne is a frustrating blend of overpricing and poor management. The course struggles to justify its standard rates, offering an experience that falls well short of expectations.
The only somewhat redeeming feature is their new “membership” option, which allows you to play after 2 PM for $20—a price that more accurately reflects the course’s actual value. Even then, players should be prepared to encounter a range of issues, most notably a staff that appears undertrained and overwhelmingly inexperienced.
Overall, unless you’re playing at the discounted rate and setting your expectations low, you might leave the course feeling shortchanged.
Greens still strong, fairways still horrible
First time back at Dardenne in a bit and things haven’t changed much. Once again, the greens are the best part of the course. However, and I still don’t know why, but the fairways are still awful.
There are huge ruts and dips in some of the fairways and they REALLY need to be filled in and fixed. On three occasions, we had a shot roll into one of these dips that were filled with water. A number of other fairways are bare and thin. The rough was thick and a challenge to play out of, though.
The carts seemed pretty new, were quite comfortable plus had a Bluetooth speaker as well as USB charging ports. That was a huge plus and much welcomed! Pace of play was horrible, though. We had to wait on nearly every shot and our round lasted nearly five hours. They have times eight minutes apart which doesn’t seem like enough time. Plus, at nearly $60, not the best value.
Course wasn't worth the price
For $75 per person, this condition if the course definitely wasn't worth it. While the greens were in excellent condition, the faiirways were in less than ideal shape, gras was spotty at best, and there were ruts and gullies throughout the course.
Worst value for golf in Missouri
If you want an over priced and slow round then this is the place for you! Fairways are in shambles… There are potholes in every one. Pace of play is around 5+ hours in a morning. If you want to spend $75 on a morning tee time, you’re better off driving 5 minutes away to the Falls. They actually keep pace of play and take care of the course. I wouldn’t spend $40 to play here again…
Overcharged
I placed my reservation through Golf now - paid $58 and some change for (???) - I thought it paid for my green fees. Upon arrival to the course, I had to pay an additional $47 and some change for my green fees, as well as all 3 other people in my party. What did my $58 reservation go towards? Scammed either by Golf Now or the course, either way I will not be using the service or going to that course again. Overall poor experience.
Great track, better staff..
I've been playing here for the past 5 seasons.. the course is in the best shape I can remember playing. The staff in the pro shop are the absolute best.. Friendly and knowledgeable. Glad to have this course close to home. Can't Wait for all of the upgrades to the clubhouse, restaurants and course..
