Coyote Springs Golf Club
About
Coyote Springs Golf Club (previously known as Coyote Springs - The Chase Course) is located less than one hour from the Las Vegas Strip and just 45 minutes from Mesquite, Nevada. This Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is highly regarded as a must-play by Vegas golf aficionados. The course's stunning setting is sometimes referred to as "nature's cradle" since it's situated in a verdant valley completely surrounded by majestic mountains and peaks. While the scenery may be beautiful, don't let it distract you from the golf course's many challenges. Water and bunkers await you at almost every turn. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 second, whose bunkers at the second landing area will force you to think carefully about how to approach the Augusta-like green. In addition to the golf course, Coyote Springs offers one of the largest practice facilities in the country. This 19-acre facility includes 13 target greens and a short game area for pitching, chipping, and bunker practice.

Nice but tough
Another great day at Coyote Springs. I think the greens keeper must hate us with some of these pins hahahaha. Not everything has to be on a crown. Having said that the course was in great condition. We’ll be back.
Wouldn't go out of my way to play it again.
Nice track. Unfortunately, although it's pretty well maintained tee to green, including the bunkers, the greens themselves are like tarpaper. Almost impossible to get the ball to the hole unless you're well above the pin. Staff is nice, but the golf carts are the same gas-powered wheezers they had 10 years ago. Mine had no tread on the tires, kept backfiring and bucking the whole way around. The cart attendant said they were waiting for the new fleet to arrive "any day." Defintely not worth 120 bucks.
Very nice course that is challenging. The condition was very good considering they do not overseed for winter. The golf carts are older and do not have gps. My hand held rangefinder worked fine for yardages. I liked the course and would definitely recommend playing it. I just feel $120.00 was a bit high but it's peak golf season for the mesquite area.
Service under Par
I asked the Cart Manager if there was a driving range as I couldn't see one and it had been years since I played there. The Cart Manager answered "This is a 5 Star resort" . I then asked again as I didn't think he understood my question. His answer was "This is a 5 star resort" I then asked again thinking he didn't understand me and his answer was again ?This is a 5 star resort. Then I realized he did understand my question and he was thinking I was stupid or something for asking such a question. He finally said down and to the left. the person we got paired up with said he also got the same answer from the Cart Manager for another question.
Service Under Par
The Cart Manager was not very friendly. Actually quite mean. I asked him if there was a driving range and he answered "This is a 5 start resort" ..I thought he misunderstood my questions so I asked again. HIs answer was "This is a 5 star resort. I then asked again since I thought he still didn't understand my question. His answer was "This is a 5 star resort. Then i realized he must have thought i was an idiot for asking this question. All he had to say was "Yes down the lot and to the right" . Poor Customer Service.
Great layout. Get a yardage book or something
The course layout is great if you have a yardage book or have played it before.
After checking the n with a not so happy gentleman inside, the cart guy in the parking lot kept telling me “5 star resort” so I guess that means free range balls and waters.
After hitting balls at a great range and putting for 45 minutes the starters didn’t pair me up with the three some in-front of me or the group behind me. As I was told inside I would be. Kinda silly to send out a single at noon. I joined the group in-front of me after 4 holes.
After a not friendly start I had no idea how far a bunker was. Or a dog leg. The sprinkler heads were not all marked and the app they have didn’t work. I have a range finder and gps but still with blind shots didn’t help.

Cart Manager was not friendly and actually outright mean. I asked if they had a driving range and he answered "This is a 5 star resort" . I then asked again as I thought he misunderstood my question. His answer was "This is a 5 star resort" . I then asked again as I thought the same thing. He then answered again "This is a 5 star resort". I then figured out he thought I was asking a stupid question. I question whether this was a 5 star resort as there's no GPS and Cart kept backfiring. I will give this place another chance.
Moguls in the fairways
Jack N continues to out do himself in designing another course that even the pros would not like. It has fairways that are almost mogul like and if your ball lands by the left or right side of the fairway then it will be kicked into the desert or gulches. The only fairness of the layout was the greens were receptive and in good condition unlike his greens at Dove Mtn. AZ. If you want to play a great Jack N course then go to Bears Best in Las Vegas. Otherwise if you are above a single digit then beware that you may spend a lot of time in the desert or gulches.
Hey it’s kevin.
Did we pair up?
I wrote a very similar review.
