Although Las Vegas and Reno are the state's population centers, Nevada's best public golf courses stretch beyond those cities to the desert and the mountains. Nevada's best public golf courses can be found along famous landmarks like the Las Vegas Strip, Lake Tahoe and Lake Las Vegas.
GolfPass releases a Top 25 Public Golf Courses in Nevada every March thanks to YOU. We create our annual Golfers' Choice lists by curating the reviews submitted by everyday golfers. We use GolfPass' Ratings Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's subcategory averages.
Each course needed at least two reviews and at least some public access to qualify. Unfortunately, the scenic Wolf Creek Golf Club only received one review in 2024, making it ineligible. We haven't received a review from the exclusive Shadow Creek Golf Club since 2019. If you believe these courses belong on our list, leave a review next time you tee it up. Elite private clubs like Clear Creek Tahoe and the Summit Club aren't eligible.

What they're saying: "I definitely recommend playing Wolf. I have now played 2 of the 3 18’s there. The course layout is fair, but the greens were extremely fast, which I normally like. I think I made one putt all day from outside 6 ft. Pace of play is the only complaint I would have. There were a couple of foursomes that backed things up. Doesn't have a course rating for some reason so it doesn't show up in the ghin. Also strange. Condition was pretty good. Some places that needed to be resod or had just been resodded. Overall though this course was very enjoyable. As long as you play the correct tees, you should enjoy this track. It was definitely challenging, but not so much that you regretted playing it. It is part of a retirement community (I believe), since it seemed most people had their own customized golf carts. The staff in the pro shop, as well as the starter, were all very informative and very friendly. It was a beautiful day, albeit a bit windy. If you’re looking for a nice round of golf with a fair amount of difficulty, in Mesquite, this would certainly be your course." - jastroz -

The course is very well managed, greens were perfect, staff was very friendly. One note.... Google is wrong! You enter the course on the east side, just north of the KOA Campground. Falcon Ridge is Legit and for the price made a perfect round of golf. Lastly we had lunch at the Scotty's and it was delicious plus the service was great!
