Olomana Golf Links
About
Olomana Golf Links features an interesting layout that consists of two distinctly different nines, but both are equally challenging. Although it is a relatively short golf course, the many formidable challenges will keep golfers on their toes. The front nine is relatively flat with water hazards on every hole, while the back nine has irregular, rolling hills that are dotted with strategically placed sand bunkers. Prevailing trade winds are also always a factor on the golf course. The signature hole is the par-3 eighth, which features a semi-island green that is well protected by sand bunkers and coconut trees. In addition to the interesting layout, Olomana Golf Links also offers scenic views of the Ko’olau Mountain Range. The course has become a favorite among Oahu locals.

Do not waste your time or money.
Olomana Golf links is unplayable. A co-worker and I played on Friday, 18 January. The front 9 was completely flooded. There is no water drainage whatsoever. The fairways on all 18 are dried mud and have the feel of concrete. Trying to swing the club not only hurts your hands and arms, but probably damages your clubs. Sand traps are dried and hard as well. Impossible to get under the ball. Greens are dried out and way too fast and littered with leaves and debris. Finally, the pace of play was so slow because the staff allowed a group of SEVEN before us. No course marshal whatsoever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Compare to your average Municipal Course
Played here on day two of our vacation and was not impressed. Fairways were dead and the greens needed to be cut. The group in front of us was playing a six some and apparently there is no dress code. There are too many great courses on the island to play here. Near the bottom or my list.
Good Enough For The President, Good Enough For Me!
I always enjoy playing golf at Olomana as this is an “ancient” Hawaiian golf course with the attributes of a classic track and at the same time, work in progress! As with most courses under new ownership, the course is undergoing improvement and enhancements. The staff is excellent, the course needs work from the standpoint of unintended fairway hazards with dips and valleys, greens with unknown issues that make them inconsistent and difficult to negotiate. I suggest you play the course and make up your own determination of difficulty, playability and enjoyment. President Obama makes this track an annual event, and if it is good enough for him, it’s good enough for me!
nice scenery, just not the course itself...
Fun course but of course could be way better if they fix it up and patch the fair way and actually had better carts... awful shocks and makes it worst when the fairways are bumps her and there...bad lies whereever you ball lands on the drive...sometimes nice... need attention... badly...
Very slow play due to a big group before us.
Very easy check in and friendly staff in the Pro shop. Can't beat the price I received on line.
Slow play and poor course conditions
The course seems to be a regular place for local golfers. There was a high concentration of golfers which contributed to very slow play. Ranger patrolled the course but did nothing to speed up play.
Greens had just been aerated, so were very rough and did not roll true. Lots of disease noted on green surface. Fairways were no smooth - lots of very weird bounces on good drives. Lots of unplayable areas in the middle of fairways.
Course was very dry but nice layout
Lady in the pro shop and the lady in the snack shack was rude and grouchy. Bought a beer and a bag of doritos and the chips was super stale and old!!
Course was in bad shape
For the cost it was taken care of like a state course. the greens were in bad shape and the fairway was like hitting off cement. I would not recommend anyone paying to play this course there are to many nice courses in better shape for the money. Also to top it off at the turn we stopped to get a hot dog at about 1:00 and they were sold out "come on man".
Great golf value in Oahu
Olomana Golf Links can be a great value if you find one of the deep discounts on Golfnow. The pace of play was excruciatingly slow, but then I showed up behind a local golf club that had 12 tee times, some with 5 or 6 in a tee time. Despite the slow pace of play it was a fun course, nothing too spectacular about the course, but then again you're playing golf in Hawaii where the fairways tend to be sparse and the greens fast.
The staff was extremely friendly, with lots of local aloha, which helped make the experience even better.
For the price I paid, I'd certainly play it again--but not on the last Sunday of the month when the large golf club is playing.
terrible
I'm most likely never golfing there again, course overall conditions are horrible and it is jut not worth the time
This course has a lot of character
I've played Olomana several times. I like it mostly because each hole has a different personality. You have to use several different approaches to the some very short holes, holes with revines, elevation changes, and dogleg lefts and rights. To me, it's a fun course.
The golf carts are absolutely terrible and need to be replaced.
For the price...I'll play there many times to come.
good price,friendly staff
overall average-good conditions,weather permitting,fairways
need work though,really bumpy,overall a good course,flexible
with start time and group placements8/20/
recent change of ownership showing mixed results
Too many large groups, 5-somes, 6-somes slow down play. Fun course, listed as a par 72, but should be thought of as a par 68. Several fun short par 4s, but only two good real par 4s. conditions are spotty, greens generally okay, but some real problem fairways.
