very nice staff and greens were great. no weeds or patches
all the staff was great, cart girl came around in time, just ran out of sandwiches. ended up in the restaurant which was nice and the ambiance was great. there was a grad party in their private room. carts were in great shape. pro shop had lots of items. thank you to all for a great experience.
Great Value for the Price
This is not a 5 star course, but it can’t be beat for the price. The course is wide open and very easy scoring. It’s a very old style layout, lacking in visual greatness. Greens have some subtle late breaks, I had a couple putts lip out. Greens in great shape and rolling about 9-10, so not fast, not to slow either. Everything else is in good but not amazing shape. There is NO complaints about visiting here. Staff was great. Food was great and very reasonably priced. We did not get to the range, but was available. I would recommend if you are in the area and want to have a good day scoring.
Worth the extra miles
We played the turtle run course and loved it so much that we booked the Deer run course 3 days later. Both courses were an excellent shape and the price was ridiculous for the value. We will definitely be playing again.
Pace of play was excellent. The staff was from and professional as always.
We actually played Turtle Run...
We started playing Turtle Run because of a Juniors Tournament on the Deer Run Course. Then, it started to pour and I lost my 5 iron into the pond between #5's green and #6's tee box, when it flew out of my wet hands, teeing off on #6. Was unable to retrieve it as it was just out of reach, in the middle of the pond. We could see the end of the handle sticking out of the water, about an inch. But, when I came back from the cart barn with some rope, it was gone. Hope to retrieve it before too long.
Friendly staff. Nice practice area and challenging course. Greens need a little work but it is dry season
My buddy and I drove 2.5hrs from the north side of Tampa to come and play Turtle Run. From the moment we stepped in the golf shop, the experience was top notch. Kay from the golf shop even escorted us to the first tee since it was our first time there. It only got better from there. The starter was very friendly and helpful. We saw the bev cart about 5 times, granted it wasnt a very busy day. The course itself was an awesome layout and provided a good challenge. We played the back tees at just shy of 6400yds. Generous landing areas off the tee combined with smallish greens that have subtle breaks and great undulation, not very common here in florida. I can not say how impressed i was, and being in the golf industry as a DOI, i can honestly say that the service and experience created by the staff/course was well worth the 2.5hr drive. Oh, not to mention that course was probably worth $75-$100 a round and for $48 its an absolute steal. I can not wait to come back and play Deer Run. Thank you guys for an awesome day!
Was not typical Turtle greens
Love this course but this was the slowest I ever seen these greens. Was not unplayable slow but was not typical Turtle
Course in good condition, open fairways and a little water to test your nerve.
The course is in great shape except for some of the pitch marks on the greens... but that’s because people don’t bother to fix them when they play! First time playing there and the staff went out of their way to get me to the first tee on the Turtle Run... it’s kinda far from the club house. Can’t wait to play the Deer Run course next. Definitely one of my new favorite tracks!
Got a good deal
Got in on a “Hot Deal”, night before we played. Worth the money, much better than some of the other courses in the area.
Super nice course all around, good greens. Get your tee time on Golfnow.com or coupon for $38 for better price.
Great course.. layout was generous for tee shots, however accuracy was needed for your second shot.
Definitely will play it again.
Great course at a fair price
Fairways are in great shape for Feb. and the greens are fast..
