Chehalem Glenn Golf Club sprawls across beautifully hilly terrain, providing a course that is not for the faint of heart. The course is defined by the dramatic changes in elevation, which can make it tough to walk. The steep hills make this a tough golf course even for high handicappers. Uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies abound and you'll also face forced carries to narrow landing areas as well as blind layup shots. The more open front nine is player friendly and the back nine is where it gets tougher with mostly tree-lined holes and more strategically placed bunkers. The golf course is as scenic as it is challenging with elevated tees and greens that overlooks the surrounding hills and valleys. The beauty and difficulty of the course has built Chehalem Glenn Golf Club a reputation as one of the greater Portland area's must-play courses.

A grueling walk
This is 1st time I have played the back 9 and we started on the back 9. I made the huge mistake of walking with a push cart. The 1st 3 holes are strangely laid out across a ravine. Walking these 3 holes alone was a work out. There are at least 6 holes were you have to traverse a ravine and walk steeply uphill. It flattens out after the 14th hole (5th hole of the day) but there more steep walks on the front 9. We were stuck behind a very slow 4-some and there did not seem to be any marshalling on the course whatsoever. I wanted to like this course but it's not a repeat course for me, even with a cart next time.

Effort
It would be nice to see a little effort. Bunkers had weeds and looked like kids been playing in them. Clover made finding ball extremely hard. Pace of play was exhausting.

Terrible
Terrible waste of time! 5 hours to play. No course marshaling. Group in front was filming themselves on a busy saturday. Told marshal and he did nothing. Just drove off. Wont waste my time playing the course again if thats the way they are going to treat the rest of us golfers.

Absolutely love this place! Great experience both times I’ve been. I have and still do recommend it to all of my golf friends!
Very nice course to play
Chehalem Glenn Golf Course is very nice and well maintained. The view's from the first tee box, looks like expensive course. For winter playing, it's BEST to stay on the fairways and cart paths as other areas you will step in the muddy. The greens are in good shape but can be very challenging to put because of the slopes.

The golf course features undulating terrain with rolling hills and valleys, creating a dynamic layout that incorporates elevation changes for a challenging and visually appealing experience.
Good course tucked in nicely
I played in January so muddy and no drainage but it’s January in Oregon. Greens were slow but nice and course is in good shape. The back 9 was confusing. 10-12 are backwards (imo) and horrific if you are walking. No joke it’s an additional 1/2 mile. In a cart not bad but this should be redone. 11 should be 10. 10 should be 11 and there you go. It’s a 45 minute drive for me so for me to revisit a course it has to be amazing. This is not enough for me to drive out again.

Great course with well manicured greens. Can be a tough course to walk so a cart is recommended.
