Decent course
There are a couple of big plus points here, One is that generally the course doesn't play through houses, although there are a few where they can be seen, and the second is that the rangers actively push slow groups along to get their pace up.
The conditions of the greens, fairways, and tees were all in decent condition. The fairways are usually fairly generous, and there are only a few holes where water is really in play. I've only played here once, but it seemed like the front 9 played tougher than the back.
I'd have no worries about recommending this course.
I'll lay the Links again.
My first golf outing here in the Villages was a Shotgun start at 8:00 AM on the 8th hole at The Links at Spruce Creek Golf Course. The ball sure doesn't travel near as far here as it does in Colorado!! I was very happy with everything but the Score Card. Unlike most courses I've played the card showed you the shape of the holes. Theirs did not and if I had not been paired with a member I would have had a very difficult time.
Great Value!!!
Course was in good condition; greens mostly smooth. Staff is one of the best anywhere. A challenge for any level golfer! Lunch was served in only 10 minutes.
Always In Good Condition
I have played this course about a dozen times and have always found it to be in good condition. Moderately challenging overall with some fairly forgiving fairways. Course staff friendly and helpful. Will play this again with my group
Course condition
Even though the course is only in fair condition due to reworking the greens it is still a good value. Hole 7 is closed and green 18 is a temporary. The greens are under repair with many patches that were done this week. Still playable and am sure they will be in much better condition in a week or two.
laid out very nice
The course was very nice. The grass was a little bit long in the rough and on the T-box. A few of the greens were in bad shape, All in all had a good time and I'm sure I'll go back.
Great Course -but in greens in sad condition!
This course is usually in great shape, but this time I found the greens were burnt up. Ok, if you like putting on sand, if not then wait for conditions to improve. The staff is the friendliest around!
NEW MANAGMENT - took over in July, 2017. You will see big changes in course condition, staff, and your experience. Give us another chance. New greens are rolln great......
Good Value
Greens were not as good as they were a month ago. Most of them had some bare spots and were a little bumpy, but very puttable. . That being said for the golfnow price it was a very good value and we will be back.
This course was a great deal.
The shotgun start was different, but got the game rolling nicely. Only problem was it was bogged down and stuck behind a slower foursome as a threesome.
The course was in great shape, scorecard had short yardage but it played tough.
Good time!
My son and I got there right when a morning shotgun tourn. was ending. Very confusing for everyone. Started on time and was paired with nice couple. Course layout is nice =, but greens needed a lot of help! must be a bad winter/spring on all courses cause encountered bad greens everywhere. Enjoyed the day though. Will play here again.
Ready To Play Again
Played this course for the first time with some friends of mine. The way the tee times were run for the 12:45 shotgun was excellent. Everything was in order and the staff had everything down excellent. Pace of play was great and the other golfers were great. I would recommend this course to anyone who is an admirer of a course that asks you to create shots but is also forgiving to the high handicapper. The greens rolled just fine.
Sunday best
Over this course is in beautiful shape, although the greens were not a sticky as I would like, they were running pretty quick. Fairways were a little soggy in spots, due to the recent rain.
Good conditions - most holes are well designed - a few tee boxes bead leveling- greens slow but in good shape except for one green
Good course - a few of the tee boxes could use some work and one green was not as good as the others
Great golf exsperince.
Good golf coarse.great service..slow play in the afternoon...I would like to see a ranger to keep pace of play..I do not under stand why any golf coarse wants slow play to not get more people to have a good smooth pace of play..it still was good.
Nice course for the price.
In the shadows of all the great courses at the Villages, The Links at Spruce Creek is a welcome, laid-back course. There are some unique holes, with character. particularly number 4 and number 6. The back nine seems in a little better shape. Overall, a good value.
The Links at Spruce Creek South
The course is in good condition. This course has everything ...nice live oak trees, very good fairway grass coverage, enough lakes and ponds to be challenging, and the greens are in good condition. It was very enjoyable.
Good Day on the Course
Our Tee time was 1:16 got out around 1:30, very busy course. Didn't mine it thou, we were there with friends and there was no rush.
We talked with the starter for a while , really nice guy.
The greens were in very good condition, the ranger kept things moving as best he could and the refreshment cart ran well into the afternoon.
Had a great day with good friends at a great price.
Was as expected
Average course. Maintained adequately. Green fee was appropriate for the course. Had a good round.
Great value in a challenging course.
I found the course in great condition, challenging but fair. Greens and fairways in good condition. We all (four) enjoyed our round.
Enjoyed my day
Shotgun start @ 12:45 - had a good time playing.
Course was fun to play - the Play it Forward tee's were a great help and made the game more fun when you don't need a 5 wood or long iron to reach the greens in regulation
