t;he most beautiful course I have played this year and was in great shape. would love to play it again in cooler weather.
Plan a vacation near Granada
Played this course right after a summer downpour and it was still phenomenal. Drove up in a drenching downpour, cancelled the round, then began looking for a course out of the path of the storm. Began to clear off unexpectedly and then had the course to ourselves. It was fantastic!
Course condition was excellent. Tee boxes, fairways, greens - everything was done in an excellent fashion. Water drained well too. Layout was challenging and yet manageable for the average golfer. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Fellow golfers were very friendly as well. Read a review that must have gotten cross with someone, we never met that person.
Will continue to play in Hot Springs Village here and her other courses.
Great courses
Arrived at the course early to eat lunch but the restaurant was closed because they were in the process of changing vendors. The pro shop did have several drinks and snacks so they their part to help out. The course was great and in great condition and the staff was very friendly. No complaints at all. Great driving, chipping and putting range!
Rude Staff
The course was nice and in good condition, but the staff was rude. The young gentleman in the pro shop apparently has "big fish in a small pond" syndrome and was very condescending. While we did have the first tee time after an outing, and did not expect food to be available, apparently it was too much trouble for the bartender to fill cup with ice and a Diet Coke, even as the event was wrapping up. We golfed the Isabella, Ponce, De Soto and Coronado courses where each had extremely friendly and courteous staff. Would not make another tee time at Granada nor recommend it due to staff.
Beautiful views
Very friendly and accommodating staff.course was in great condition and each holes layout was fun to play.
We had to wait on each hole on the front 9 but the back picked up pace.will be back to play again.
Check all the categories at Granada Golf Club
I've said it many times: The most important characteristic of a course is was it fun, memorable and playable. In the case of Granada Golf Club in wonderful Hot Springs Village, I couldn't give it higher marks in those three categories. From the get-go, you've got wide fairways, beautiful views, topography change and memorable holes. Add in great conditioning, beautiful bentgrass greens and sparkling water hazards, and what's not to enjoy? No, they're not going to hold a U.S. Open here, but get on the back tees at almost 7,200 yards, and it's all the golf course you want. Yet., if you play it from the proper tees you have a chance to score.
Interesting holes and many elevation changes.
Well groomed. Tough but fair. Many interesting holes with different challenges. Ball drops down in the rough but the grass isn't too thick to get out.
Great Track
The course is in excellent shape. Great layout with changing elevation. The greens held and were a little bumpy due to all the approach shots.
Incredible Course
Incredible course, pretty tough from the tips. It's a big course, wide fairways, but long and lots of elevation changes. Impeccably maintained.
Very beautiful golf course
First time playing there will be back again and again and I am from Houston Texas loved it
Beautiful course.
Great course with great views. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition. This is a very challenging layout.
Great course for the money!
Always a great round of play! Courteous staff in the Pro shop had us out of the driving range with a complimentary bucket of balls and on the first tee an hour earlY! Course grounds crew were doing spring maintenance on a lot of holes; however they showed the utmost consideration towards us by allowing us to play through and remains unobtrusive during play. Course is beautiful and challenging, never a dull round! This was our 3rd year and we will be back at it again!
The Hardy's
Real Championship Course with views.
I am a full-time Hot Springs Village Resident and this is my favorite course. First time players need to have full hole gps to navigate. From the tees most holes are not too difficult.
Length is an asset, especially if you play the blue tees. Only single digit players that can carry the ball 250 should play the blues. The tips (black tees) are punishing. It isn't just distance, the blue and black tees come from more difficult angles. But the white tees will suit just about every recreational golfer. Seniors and shorter hitters shouldn't hesitate to play the silver or gold tees. Almost every hole at Granada has a generous landing area and most favor a draw. There are a few "driveable" par 4s, #2 and #10. But miss to one side or the other and bogey is a good score. Most second shots will be uphill and require adding a club. Green speed varies with the weather, but are always manageable. Granada has two of the toughest (but fair) finishing holes in the game. I have walked off of 16 under par and finished +3.
Sometimes the views will distract you, especially on holes 4, 10 and 15-18. Bring your camera phone. In non-winter months do not stray near the creek that meanders through #12 unless you have a fondness for cotton mouth snakes. When you are coming up 18 you'll have an audience sitting on the patio of the clubhouse.
The driving range is around the corner, a block or so away and nicely arranged. Pat and her crew in the pro shop will help you in every way they can, just ask. I wish there was a better situation for snacks at the turn. The restaurant, Tanner's, is nice but not suited for the typical quick in and out.
Tournament Round
Played in a tournament here. Hadn't played this course in some time and there are a couple of holes that you need to be familiar with to play them effectively. Regardless, this is a scenic course that I thoroughly enjoy. It is challenging and the only issue that I have is that I would speed up the greens. They are considerably slower than the other courses nearby. All in all you have to put this one on your list.
