White Clay Creek Country Club at Delaware Park

Just played white clay and had a good time. The course had some burn spots on the greens but they rolled really nice. I would say they were close to a 12 It is a shot makers course. I would definitely go back for the price.

First timer. Showed the flaws in my game. Despite the challenges I had a great time. Hope to try again later in the summer.

The course itself was in great shape, and despite a bit a rain, there were only 2 holes that were cart only. The greens were very fast and punishing for being above the hole. A great experience overall.

This course is target golf at a premium. All par 5’s are targets off tee and 2nd shots. Most par 4’s require working the ball off the tee and all greens are elevated. Besides that it’s quality conditions with excellent greens. Use your 3 wood off most tees and you’ll have a respectable score. Staff is great and lounge is cozy.

White Clay Creek is a very true and tough test of your ability to keep the ball in play on the short grass. The Creek is evident on 17 of the 18 holes and you must carry it on each one of those holes. It is not always a small meandering creek either even though the carries are achievable for the most part. The good part is it is not hidden from you and can be negotiated but you need to play golf and not just hammer away.

The rough, on the other hand, is quite unforgiving and I am not talking about the high grasses you can find but the nearby just off the fairway and greens rough. We spent a lot of time searching for balls near the greens at the times when the green was not hit with the approach shot. Now some of this may be due to a ton of rain recently in the area causing some mowing to not be completed but I have a feeling it leans more towards just being difficult if you are not spot on with your game.

The greens were very true and smooth and quick. They don't look great in spots but at no time did the look deter from the roll of the putt. The greens were a pleasure to be on...we just took too many shots getting to them.

The staff were all very friendly and courteous as well as helpful. The starter/ranger was very pleasant and gave us a very good rundown and vision of the course....he was not wrong on anything he said. The cart girl was ever present as needed but also not overbearing.

The layout is excellent albeit too consistent in difficulty through the first 15 holes and then it seems to have been a quick finish to the end as the breather holes you have been hoping and waiting for all come at the end. You had better bring your best when playing this course but accept the challenge of it as well. We did not bring our best on this day and the course was a clear winner. Some of it was the golfers but some of it was the course and the challenges it presents. Pick the right tees and truly keep it on the fairway at White Clay Creek.

Accuracy is important when hitting approach shots to the greens. I did enjoy playing here. Greens ran true and fast.

This is a stunning course, no matter how good you are , you will loose a dozen balls and wont break 100 the first time. Come with that expectation and realize what tour players have to contend with from tees that are a lot longer than the ones the regular public and weekend warriors play from.

If you come with those expectations, you will enjoy it to the MAX.

Great course layout. A lot of challenging holes. Greens were a little spotty but overall in good condition. Cart paths were kind of all over the place. Went on Saturday afternoon and had no pace of play issue. Cart GPS is a cool feature. I would play again and recommend.

Course nice layout as really do not see another hole , which nice look like greens where coming back as seem like might had little burn out on greens , but rolled fairly good.the course is not for walkers as long way in between lot holes, also cart person. Could make around little quicker as once tee off do not return to clobhouse until end round

Beautiful layout. Great holes. Challenging for all levels. Will definitely be back again.

The gentleman at the desk seemed upset i had a golfnow teetime. Luckily the starter was cool and let me go off solo bc there was NO ONE on the course, even tho desk man told me it was busy. Course wasnt in great shape but was nice....difficult too. They need more signs since i got lost 3x's due to backtracking on paths. Overall...so so with no desire to return.

This course is very nice. I will definitely return.

Best test of golf in the Wilmington area. 7000 plus yards will test any skill level from scratch to the 20+ lady’s and gents. I play this coarse once a month to humble myself. Excellent parklands layout. A++.

Course conditions were not perfect but given the extended winter it was in very good shape. I want to commend the staff. I was paired with golfers playing the course for the first time and two of them were late to the tee. The starter was particularly gracious in how he handled the situation and we simply swapped tee times with the group behind us. And, although we fell behind after several holes, we were NOT hounded by the ranger about pace of play, which may have ruined the day. The rest of the staff was very attentive and made us feel very welcome. Thank you to all!

Good amenities, practice facilities and course. Good shots rewarded. Bring a few balls. Greens were a little bumpy following aerification, but fast.

Full of natural beauty, but don’t get distracted. Tough track. Long par 3s. Par 5s have length and tough lay ups to target. Fair amount of blind shots. Carts have great GPS to assist you with target yardage and carries. Great range and short game area. Attentive staff from parking lot to course. I’ll be back to tame the beast.
