Loved the course. Didn’t love the pace of play - 4:50.
Will play again but, not on the weekend and hopefully the pace of play is better during the week.
Deep Sand
In the signature Dunes bunker complex the sand is deep. The sand is fluffy. This was the hardest bunker I’ve ever been in. I could argue it’s unfair even. My driver into the sand left a fried egg. The shot out that didn’t make it and remained in the complex had a lie that can only be described as “eaten by the sand.” The ball was 70% covered in sand. There was sand on the top side of the ball. I don’t know the physics of even how this happened.
The course is in great shape. Good challenge and lots of fun. Some drivable Par 4’s and other real birdie opportunities. This is a great Risk-Reward course.
No Dunes for me!
Very nice course except I could not figure out the speed of ball on the greens. Very, very fast.
Dunes Course
The Dunes Course at the Sandridge Golf Course is in very good. The fairways and greens are very good with almost no dry spots. The greens rolled very good and were fast. Ran into a backup on the 10th tee which made Pace of play on the back 9 very slow. There was a group of five players two groups ahead which was the major reason for the slow play. This should not be allowed. The staff is very friendly. The practice facilities are very good.
Good track, slow going.
Country club feel, great practice areas especially the short game-chipping-bunker area. I was told it’s the best public course on the treasure coast; i wouldn’t go that far exactly but for the money it’s a great track. Pace of play was pretty brutal, ended up waiting every single hole on the back.
Beautiful Course, but Challenging
The course is in great condition. Greens are somewhat fast. The layout of the Dunes course is visually pleasing. We played Blue/Gold combo today, and that's a tough round! Gotta be accurate with drives and long irons to stay out of trouble and give yourself nice approaches and opportunities to score well. I would definitely recommend! Great value for a great course.
