Lacombe Golf and Country Club
About
Lacombe Golf & Country Club opened in 1925, but the site has roots in golf that date back even further to 1910 when golfers would use the former cow and sheep pasture to hit balls. It has undergone many changes over the years but the layout still retains its classic character. The golf course is situated along the PEII, midway between Calgary and Edmonton. The par-71 layout is routed through dense groves of mature, towering trees. They loom above the fairways and provide a backdrop for nearly every hole. When the trees are combined with the golf course's small, undulating greens, the layout becomes a true test of your accuracy. In addition to the golf course, Lacombe also offers a driving range and a practice putting green with a bunker.

Great course
Lacombe has recovered well from the damaging hail storm in July.
We teed off at 12:15 on a holiday Monday and never had to wait and were never pushed - very surprising since the course seemed busy.
A fun interesting course with some panoramic par 3s.
Avoid the ball washers - toxic - may never have been cleaned or filled this year.
Player friendly course.
Course was in excellent condition first day I played it and staff did a great job prepping course after a hail storm. Greens played much slower ball moved around due to hail stone damage. Overall really liked course and hole variety.
Challenging Course
It was a really nice day.... They are on time with tee off schedule but the pace of play is a little bit slow. We have to wait every hole to tee off. This course is busy, though we played here for the first time-, we did fairly good on this challenging course. Overall, will surely comeback again.....
Great layout and challenging enough without being frustrated
A fair bit of dead areas but overall great shape, will defiantly play again
Great Day
Great weather, time of play was perfect, course condition was good, greens were challenging and had a great round with son and brother in law.
The pint, burger and fries on the 19th hole were excellent!
Great Course
Very impressed with the conditions considering what they went through last year. It is very green and lush right now. The greens are superb and rolling nicely. One of my favorites in Central Alberta.
Great value, very dry
Nice course but needs lots of moisture. Was disappointed because of the reviews I had read. Was expecting the course to be in better shape.
Great conditions for early season
Course and greens were in good shape for the time of year. Course was very busy but pace was good and finished 18 holes in 4.5 hrs
Golfing
Course in nice shape-t-time on schedule, enjoyable round of golf
awesome greens
this course has beautiful greens this year course is in great shape. staff is very helpful and freiendly pace during the week is great weekends can slow down a little on the back overall great course
Great experience early season
Play it you will like it. Fairways need rain, heat, and some time but it is early in the season.
Challenging
This golf course features small undulating greens. The fairways are fairly tight and with the leaves falling, it was difficult to find the ball at times. I would say that most of the holes play fair, no blind tee shots. There are spots where you will not find your ball in the trees, but it is mostly a parkland style course. The price we paid was a great deal for a scenic country golf course. Staff and locals were friendly.
Spectacular Day
Lacombe is a well looked after course. Last round here of the season was an excellent day. Staff are very helpful. Great deals at clubhouse. Picked up a couple nice shirts.
Player
Would recommend this course to anyone. Will also play it again.A lot of hidden hazards i.e.water at bottom of valleys.Yes it's marked on the hole layout but until you see it it's just not the same.Unfortunately it was really cold out as they had a Frost delay. Can't blame the course for that just Mother Nature.
Must Play
You won't be disappointed. Fast greens in beautiful condition.
worth drive from edmonton
very nice course.in excellent shape ,especially back nine.
Always a good day
Aside from pace of play being a touch slow, course (especially greens) in very good shape. Checking in and getting out was extremely easy.
A good challenge
This course is much tougher than it first appears. The greens are large, very fast and tricky. The course is quite hilly with fairly wide fairways but lots of trouble to watch out for. The traps could use some attention and there are some dry patches on the fairways, but all in all a very enjoyable round of golf.
An Older but Well Established Course
High temperature and humidity proved a bit of a chore in completing the 18 holes. Golfed with another couple from out Village and really enjoyed the outing. Well maintained and professionally staffed ranked this course as one of our best played this season. Would recommend a trip to Lacombe to anyone wanting to have a good round of golf.
