Misinformed at time of booking!
First the good part: It was a beautiful sunny, warm fall day, and the anticipation of playing golf
with old buddies on a familiar 18 hole course was very high. What could possibly dampen our outing. Definitely not
rain or snow or not even a breath of wind, none of which existed. The proshop staff were very pleasent the course looked great from what we could see of it upon arrival.
The not so good part: After each of us having driven more than 50 miles to get to the course, and one player having chosen to postponed a flight out of Calgary later in the day (at monitary expense to him) to play golf with the group, we were very disappointed to discover upon arrival at the course that only 9 holes were available for play due to the maintainence staff working on the back nine. Sorry, it was therefore closed to all golfers. We would definitely not, I say not have booked the time had we known in advance that only nine of the eighteen holes were available for play. None of the group were very impressed with the omission of this fact at the time of booking. In any case we made the best of the situation but will hope that some failsafe measure can be implemented in the future.

Very friendly staff
Enjoyable day, course in great shape. Very friendly staff. Pace of play good.
Fabulous Variety on each hole
Love the course, will go back.

Tricky Greens
This is an excellent country course and good value for the money. It is in excellent shape and the staff is great. The greens are quite challenging with many double breakers depending where you leave your ball. Number 5 has an island green and needs a good tee shot followed by a precise approach.
Tha Links at Strathmore
Had not played this course in at least 10 years. The greens were quick, fair and consistent. The course was in the best shape that I have seen to date. A great afternoon at a great facility.
Like this course
As a mid 90s golfer I like this course. Front 9 is pretty as it meanders around a wetland lake. We found the course and greens to be in good shape and the staff were very friendly and helpful. THis is a bit of a drive for us but this course is one of my favourites for an enjoyable day out.
Good Course Conditions But Windy Location
Course conditions were very good but pace was slow (4 hrs and 45 min). Very windy and not enough trees to block the wind. Still an enjoyable afternoon.
Well maintained small town course
Strathmore is a bit of a drive from Calgary but I would recommend it for you. Lots of variety in holes both long and short. The only downside was the wind. Wind is ever present. The last hole a long par 3 is not well designed but the rest of the course is great to play.
Lovely Course
Unfortunately I was unable to play since I had to leave town unexpectedly.
This is a no-refundable booking from what I understand
so I had to take the loss.
something different
Challenging course with many different types of holes. Wish it was a little closer to home in Calgary and I would be playing here all the time. Course was in really good shape as well.
Good conditions with a hole in one
My first hole in one made the round worth all the money. Overall course well maintained. Pace of play was a bit slow
Over all good value for money
Good
Greens are in good shape and overall the course is in good shape
Not bad for march in Alberta
Ok it's march and golfing in Alberta is expected to be a little ruff no pun intended. So this review is base on just that. The front 9 is pretty wet and needs to shape up.But than you reach the back 9 and it's a totally different course and I thought it was in excellent condition and very enjoyable except for the 70 km winds. So my suggestion would be check the weather Before heading out.
Strathmore Golf Club
Nice course and in good shape. Nice to see the wetlands and environmental areas left intact.
Great Value for the Money
I booked this round as a "hot deal" through the golf now app. For $30.00 including cart this was excellent value for the money. Even though we appeared to be placed in the middle of a tournament, the pace of play was acceptable, thanks in part to two groups letting us play through (thank you). Given the time of year (fall) the course was in fairly good shape. I found a few of the holes were laid out a little odd but don't let the short hole distance fool you - they offer unique challenges. I don't think I would want to pay full rate for for this course but it's a decent challenge and a good opportunity to play a different course.
Felt like a cow in a cattle drive
We had to wait on the group in front of us at 12-15 of the tee boxes, yet we were bugged three or four times by the Marshall to pick up the pace of play.
Will never play this course again!
good challenge
The course was in great shape. It's a fairly difficult course from the blues, but from the whites it is challenging but playable for all handicaps.
