Good value but long day
Play her if you have no other options
It's a long drive to get here for a long round
First timer
To be honest I was expecting a 'prairie like' course, when we got there I was happy to see it was a lot more then that. Some holes look easy to play from the tee box, that wasn't the case either. Glad I got to play, defiantly worth the drive (I'm from Canmore, AB) whenever I'm back out that way I will be playing there again.
Well Worth the Drive!
Situated an easy 30 minute's drive from east Calgary the Strathmore Golf Club is a vastly improved facility since the addition of a second nine some eight or ten years ago and an upgraded original nine.
The new (back) nine has a more linksey feel, but at the same time fits well with the more parkland feel of the front. Nice variety of holes regarding length (couple short but fun par 4's) and elevation changes, where available.
Very relaxing setting and experience without compromising the primary tenants of the game - professional staff, proper dress code, well marshalled, very good course conditions, and plenty of risk/reward opportunities.
No complaints whatsoever, and an excellent value for the money as booked through Golf Now. I'll be back :-)
This course has nice fast greens
Course is in excellent shape, , worth the drive from Calgary. Hole 5 is very cool. For visitors to Calgary, this is an excellent example of golf on the prairies.

The greens and fairway conditions are in excellent shape. The grounds crew have taken great care and this course is in better shape than many after the summer that we have had.

Very good challenging course. Lots of water on the front. Par 4's reachable for the average woman.

good variation
Nice change of look and feel from the front nine to the back nine.
Course has decent variety
When we booked the round it was only 23$ a person. I would not spend much more than that for a round here. Front nine offers many different challenges from water to blind shots. The back is much nicer and easier. Staff was a little slow when we went in for dinner afterwards however the food was really good.
Great Conditions
Extremely fast and undulating greens which can run the score up.
Great Greens
A little bit of a drive from Calgary, but worth it. It has some great long holes, for those long hitters. This course has a great discount package on green fees, cart, & $10 food voucher.
Challenging
Challenging holes, lots of water. Very pretty and in very good condition. Good customer service and driving range
Great escape from the city
Great conditions on the course. Placement is key on a few holes but a fairly forgiving course all around. Only complaint is the bunkers were like concrete but it had rained hard for a few days prior. Greens were consistent and in excellent condition. There is a couple of unique holes including an island green where precision is required and a few short par 4's excellent for scoring opportunities. For finding a HotDeal the deal was incredible. I will definatly go back any opportunity I get.
The girls in the restaurant are friendly but may forget about you and you may have to set some extra time away to eat depending but the food was excellent.
