target golf at its best, bumpy greens after frost (Feb. !!!) Beautiful sunny day
geegeegee
greens were in great shape (nobody playing), great maintenance crew , had a whole in one on the 8th hole so all was right ...no tolls on bridge whoooo
Beautiful day - terrible pace of play
I was so excited to play a round on a beautiful fall day. Golf on the last day of October in weather where my playing partners were in shorts. However, the pace of play at this modest course was the worst I have experienced in many years! It took us over 4 hours and 45 mins to play 16 holes at which time I left because I was not going to finish 18 before it got dark and trick or treaters would be at my doorstep. My playing partners who are frequent golfers quit after 10 holes because all the waiting on every shot and every tee box! It took us 40 mins to play the first 2 holes - a par 5 and par 3! Never again. No course marshal - no help or assistance for those out on the course. They need to seriously up their customer service before I will spend my hard earned money playing this course.
Beautiful day
Great day to play golf. If I only could have hit the ball better. The course was in good shape with fast greens.Good playing pace.
Great Value!
26$ and carts are only 11$ more. Better condition than NorthView (Not by much...)
Enjoy!
Newlands Is a GREAT Value
good value course for the weekend warrior! Watch out for too much rain though - this track gets really muddy quickly. Decent layout, some quirky holes. I like it - I hope you do too.
OK condition
Considering all the rain we had the day before and the morning of play, the course was actually in good shape except for #16. The greens still showed the effects of punching and were a little spongy but very playable, nonetheless.
Not my favorite course but still a great value thanks to GolfNow.
DRY FAIRWAYS SLOW GREENS
Fun course for Beginners and newer golfers. Course maintenance needs to improve to attract most golfers. Fairways are very dry and green grass is patchy in many areas. Greens need to be cut somewhat raggy. Some awkward holes for 1st time golfers so follow the card but better to play with someone that knows the course.
Many better choices within 10-20 minute drive.
Pace of play and etiquette
There were way too many groups that were way too close together. The first 9 holes took 3 hours.
There was way too much beer being served. There were people driving carts all over the place. One clown drove right across the geeen we were playing into because he wanted room to get his speed up before attempting to jump his cart off of a tee box.
There were no marshalls anywhere.
Total gong show.
This course has the best value in town included power cart.
Everything is good except the ground is quite hard.
Gong Show
Drunk kids in groups of 6 and 7 Golf balls laying all over the place. No Marshal to keep an eye on the kids. A couple of injuries. Greens need a lot of work. Ball hooping on puts
Short but fun ,pretty good value
Second time playing this track, quite short at 6100+ but a nice example of mid 1900's golf course design. Some interesting and fun holes and shortish par 5s that yield some birdie and eagle chances. Greens were surprisingly nice with some subtle breaks and interesting pin placements although a tad bit on the slowish side. It's been a long ,hot and dry summer and the fairways reflected this with entirety too many solid fairways hit rewarded with brown tight or completely bare lies but hey, what'ya expect fer $50 on Saturday morning in August. Huh ?? Overall good value for the money... I had fun
Too dry and too slow
Newlands is usually a fine course, but with all the drought this year, it's pretty dry and chaffed in lots of places. Hitting off of dead grass or bare, dry dirt is not fun. For the money, it could be better. Great greens though.
Really slow play the last 2 days, taking almost 5 hours for a foursome to get through.
Pace of Play Way 2 Slow
Pace of play way to slow. Took over 5 hours to play a course that should play in 3&1/4 hours. Their teeing groups of 4 off every 71/2 minutes
the marshal has no idea with his responsibility is
course is pretty good but pace of game is sooooo slow, and it took more than 5 hours. In front of my team, there were 4 player when they tee off, but just after first hole, they seperate to 2 teams (2 players in each team), and made pace so slow. The Marshal saw that situation but mention nothing about it, eventhough there were so many people is waiting. This is just one example for slow pace, and the marshal did nothing, even there were many actions that he could do. Also some of holes are little bit dangerous, as they have many blind spots on course
Good value for the money,again
This is one of the best value for the money, will play more often. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good coffee.

Inconsistent but good value
You get what you pay for here. Half the tee boxes are destroyed but the other half are in great shape. Some sand hard as concrete others are nice and fluffy. Some very odd hole designs on this course and its a little confusing getting around. On the plus side I enjoyed more than half of the holes on this course. Great weather for the day and the price with cart is the exact value that will keep people coming back.
This course has some challenging holes to play
The layout is reasonable in most cases while some holes are challenging. It may be uneasy for first time players who are not familiar with it. Definitely a golf course for lower handicap.
