Newlands
Course in rough shape. Includes T boxes, greens, fairways and sand traps and even the electric carts ( broke down during round). Looks like this course may soon be out of commission as it needs a lot of attention to continue to attract golfers even at reduced prices.
Love Playing This Course
This is my 3rd time playing this course-i am very much still learning this game called Golf - we usually play Westwood 12 Hole but decided to go to the big kids course :} so glad we did - while very challenging for us we had so much fun ... i love the scenery and the layout ... only issue we found is the cart we had we found it had no power so our other 2 players were constantly having to wait for us to catch up - but all in all cant wait to go play again.
Thank you for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed your round at Newlands. We look forward to having you back soon for your next round with us!
Newfoundland Golf Course
Great stuff! Would play here again.
Thank you for your review! We are pleased that you enjoyed your round with us at Newlands. We hope to see you back again soon for your next round with us!
Best bang for your buck
The course is definitely not high end but is fairly well kept. Playing this course including a power cart is cheaper than most courses before getting a cart. greens are in good shape but are relatively slow. If you play alot of golf this course would help with the pocket book.

Okay
Layout confusing, fairways not great, greens in good shape but very slow, perhaps due to poor drainage.

Value for Money
One of the cheaper courses in the area. Great value for the money, but could be improved with better maintenance. Good irrigation, but money should be spent on general grass cutting (fairways a bit overgrown) and tee boxes are a mess. Given low green fees, the course attracts newbie golfers and those just looking for an excuse to drink (or do drugs as my wife witnessed). Would only play here for the deals and would never pay full freight,

Trounched
The fairways are narrow. No chance of finding your ball. Off fairway is deep grass and ground level tree branches.you better hit it on the fairway or take a mulligan.
Thanks for the review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your round. We hope to see you back again soon!
Enjoyable golf, booked deal on GolfNow
I had booked on Golf Now, and got a great rate. Nice that the course is quite walkable, and at the around 2pm t-time, not overly busy, just about right. A bit of turn-off, though, was perhaps 2 or 3 holes with a lot of geese droppings on the t-box and even on one of the greens. Would still book and golf at Newlands G&CC, again, though.
Thanks for the review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your round. We hope to see you back again soon.
yardage markers
the tee box markers are impossible to find, and if you have never played the course you could over club on many shots on the doglegs very easy. Some of the holes are laid out in such a way that it slows down the pace of play. #11 you cant see if the group in front is clear of the landing area from the tee, #14 par 5 you must wait until the group in front has walked back 100yds until you can see them, and on #17 you need to allow a couple of minutes after seeing the flag replaced before hitting.
Thanks for the review! We hope to see you back again soon.
The course is very good, but the greens are slow.
The course is excellent condition.
I will play once a week at this course.
I'm gonna tell my friends.
Thanks for the review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your round here at Newlands Golf and Country Club. We are looking forward to seeing you for your next round.
The best price for cart rental!
Some fairways are a bit dry; greens are in good conditions.
Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry that our fairways weren't up to par but we are constantly improving. We hope to see you for another round!
Newlands
Teed off at prime time, 9:15am ,Played the round in 4 and 1/2 hours, $35 cart included, can't beat that price, course was in as good of shape that I've ever seen it. I was very pleased, didn't hurt that I shot a 77
Thanks for the nice review! Sounds like you had an excellent day on the course. We hope to see you again!
Local knowledge needed
Course management and knowledge of the layout are key. A first time player with no one to offer tips will struggle.
Punched Greens
I asked when I booked if the greens had been punched. They said they punched them 2 weeks ago but I think it was more like 1 week ago. It was impossible to putt on those greens. Could have had a good round if not for that.
Thanks for your feedback and review. Sorry to hear the course was not quite ready for you when you played. We hope you give us another shot this summer!
Good value
Course drained well and pace of play was good. Greens were in good condition.
GolfNow Rate
Played the last two days at 3 pm for $12 both times thanks to "Hot Rates". The rate included a cart, but I chose to walk today as it is a flat course. For the money, the course is a really great value. I mean TWELVE DOLLARS... Seriously?! Even the regular green fees seem to max out at $30 on GolfNow at this time of year. No, it's not Augusta National (or even one of the high end Vancouver courses), but it certainly isn't bad. It's short (6100 yards off the tips), but it's very narrow and the greens are small so its enough of a challenge. Conditions were ok.. greens are a bit slow as it appeared they punched them in the last week or so, but it wasn't a complete "goat track" or anything. Fairways were a bit soggy and the ball plugged a few times on tee shots and there were some muddy spots. But let's be real here: it's a heck of a deal for a decent day on the links. If you are aren't too picky about playing a premium course, I'd definitely recommend this one. In fact, I booked another $12 tee time for tomorrow!
will go again
the course was challenging enough, plays long but in great shape even on a poor weather day. staff was very nice and helpful. the only bad thing was it was hard to fine a cart that worked. lots to pick from. first cart had no strap buckle, 2nd had no gas pedal, third had no straps and no windshield, forth was the charm but had to wander the lot to find it.
Letting it go
This was one of my favorite courses, but it is starting to look like Tall timbers. I think they need to remind golfers to fix their divets on the greens. They also need some better fairway maintenance.
5 hours
Took more than 5hours.
Waiting every hole all the time while play.
No course marshal.
Nice!
Staff is excellent here. Good course and great value
