Large bunkering is an element that makes Willowbrook GC more difficult than most layouts. Here is a greenside trap at hole one (par-5, 501 yards). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/26/2025

The tee shot at the fifth, a fine par-3 of 124 yards, must carry a water hazard and a pair of bunkers. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/26/2025

The seventh green, like many holes at Willowbrook, sits upon a mound and is guarded by a single, large bunker. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 02/26/2025

Not even worth the hot deal
I have been threatening to play this course for quite some time. Finally said what the heck today and gave it a shot. Won’t be back. The design of the course is horrible, the conditions of their greens are about the same. You pay for a tee time, and if tee times are managed appropriately then pace of play is good. You are not riding the group in front of you and have minimal pressure behind you. When I checked in 30min before our tee time he handed us the keys to the cart and says when you are ready just head over to the first tee. So as people show up it’s just here’s your key go play golf with no respect for proper spacing. I will not waste my money to play here again and recommend you don’t bother.
Disappointed
Played this course 3 months ago wasn’t bad. The greens were terrible. So slow and bumpy. The fairways were ok but no roll was really wet. If I played here again I would wait awhile to play it. It needs to dry out.
Decent course for the money
It was really wet so considering that, the course was in fair condition. The greens could use a little bit of TLC. They are not fast by any means. The layout is decent. I had not been here in 15 years and it hasn't changed much. If you want a low price round of golf with a decent layout, this is right for you. If you want nice pristine fairways and greens, go somewhere else. The staff are great and very accomodating as well.
Terrible course
Course was in extremely poor condition. Clumps of grass Completely coving the fairways. Extremely wet and greens were as lumpy as a bag of potatoes. Course has been in decline for years. 40$ green fees is way to high for the conditions of this course. More like a $10 course. Don’t waste your time and money.
Course layout is such that it is difficult to find the next tee box, in some cases. Better cart paths and batter signage will help. Ball cleaners at several tee boxes will be good. Drinking water accessibility will be helpful.
Interestingly flat
The condition had slightly improved since last visit. This said whilst the fairways were fairly well cut the rough was far too long and caused unnecessary delays in finding balls etc. The greens need further attention and were woolly. Hopefully the improvements will continue and the course will reach its full potential.
Potential not fulfilled?
The design of this course is interesting but very flat. The real issue is, however, the state of the course. The course needs significant and regular grooming. The greens are not in a good place and the fairways first cut, is very long. If the course had a greater focus, then I suspect it would welcome greater numbers of players?
Good course gone bad
Willowbrook is a pretty good course for the most part. To lose balls in the fairways is ridiculous! Not sure whats happened, perhaps their mowers are all broke down or they have nobody that knows how to mow. If you hit your ball in the woods or OB and can’t find it, thats on you, but to hit your ball just just slightly off dead center of the fairway and cant find your ball do to uncut fairways,,,thats on the course and it’s management
good course
Fair ways not cut and first cut is also not cut so hard to find your ball in fair way no roll and if you are in first cut almost impossible to find your ball,,,,,,
Stay in the fairway! Bring a range finder
Greens and fairway were well maintained. Clubhouse needs work. Had to guess a lot in the yardage as many seemed to be off. Outdated golf carts but overall a good day of enjoyable golf.
No cart girls so take drinks with you!
Don"t judge it by clubhouse.
We hadn't played here in almost two years (75 miles from home) and was surprised by the look of the clubhouse and the surrounding grounds (gone down). But once we got to the first hole we saw where all the attention is being paid. The tee boxes (except for 18), the fairways and the greens were in excellent shape! Just don't go off the fairays because the roughs have thick and high grass. Enjoyed the day!!
