Guildford Golf and Country Club
About
Guildford Golf & Country Club has long been known as one of the finest courses British Columbia has to offer. The golf course is located in Surrey, just across the U.S. border from Washington and less than 40 minutes from Vancouver. The scenic layout has fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are large and undulating. There are also creeks that weave across the golf course and numerous lakes that come into play. The layout has a classic design that still provides a challenge for all skill levels. Golfers are put to the test right away on the first two holes, a par 4 and a par 3 respectively, which require good course management and thoughtful decision making. Guilford's standout hole though, is the signature 16th. This tough par 3 is modeled after the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, complete with a stone bridge and water hazard that encircles almost the entire green.

great course
I've been playing golf for about 25 years
Guildford was one of those i drove by and said na power lines don't impress me a buddy convinced about a year ago to play and now I love it
Good mix of holes. and with the golf now app fantastic value
Course condition is okay
Average course. Pace play was okay. Few bare spots on the fairways. Greens are slow but well maintained. Would play here again.
Great value -slow pace
We play here a lot. Course is in great conditions considering the hot dry weather this summer. Great value, however lately a lot of beginner golfers thinking they can play from the blue and with little knowledge of the rules and etiquette.
This beginning to turn some golf off, including me and my friends.
The Marshall is trying to speed up the pace but back to the re-hits and drinking as soon as he drives away.
Hopefully this will improve.
Good layout in poor shape
I liked this course but it is in rough shape. Fairways are closer to first cut rough than mown fairways. Greens are pockmarked. But the layout is lovely and the holes are challenging but fair. But there is a lot of water to contend with. Course management comes into play here.
Spartan services. No starter or cart seller. No one takes your clubs. Not even a bag stand outside the pro shop. And don’t expect to grab a sandwich at the turn as 9 and 10 are nowhere near the club house.
I liked it but it’s closer to a municipal type course. Not crowded when I played which was nice.
Good Round
Course was busy but pace of play was fine.
There was no starter, so a bit of confusion at the beginning.
Course was a good challenge.
There was no beverage cart that passed us, and the only time you get close to the clubhouse is hole 3.
Good course for the money, excellent greens!
Played this course several times but do want to update one concern. The Bunkers are near unplayable. Need sand and to be groomed now and then.
A shaker of sand on top of Muck.
Fix the bunkers and I'd give the course a Good rating on conditions.
The course offers a good mix of holes.where strategy comes into play if you want to score well.
Greens are in very good shape and based on pin locations can be very challenging.
I think golfers of all levels would enjoy playing the course.
great shape
This is the first time I played here since they went to the Summer set up. The course conditions are as good as I've ever seen them. It was raining but I had a great time nonetheless.
Great Value Course in GVA - Interesting Variety of Holes!
Guildford provides a wide range of looks off the tee and takes some good course management to score low
Many trees create sightlines that can confuse your approach shots. Grade has holes downhill and uphill so selecting correct yardage adds another challenge to scoring.
Greens are in good condition and depending on the pin placements creates some interesting speeds and lines.
Soggy in the wet season so I recommend Mid May through Mid September only.
I think that the course is playable for mid to low handicappers. High handicappers might not enjoy.
Beginners should hone their game across the street at Eaglequest.
Great Morning At Guildford
Greeted very professionally with friendly assistance. Enjoyed playing the round with my wife and a third that teamed up with us at the start. Course is well kept and excellent value for the price paid. Definitely recommended for an enjoyable and pleasant experience.
Dry firm fairways
Dry firm hard fairways gave us extra distance but a little hard to take a divot. Greens nice and soft and held well.
Best greens!
Very impressed with the greens. smooth and fast. Staff friendly too.
afternoon delight
The course is in as good a condition as it has been in the pst 40 years. The greens are smooth and well kept and the fairways are evenly mowed. the course is undulating and good exercise, cart or not. The mid afternoon tee time left lots of daylight to the finish and there were no delays in play or pressure from behind.
Challenging but fair
This course demands attention to fairway placement and distance. The limited water and creeks come into play on many holes requiring layups or positive distance. Yardage markers are in the process of update so eyeballing distance to hole was difficult. Overall happy with the course.
