Guildford Golf and Country Club
About
Guildford Golf & Country Club has long been known as one of the finest courses British Columbia has to offer. The golf course is located in Surrey, just across the U.S. border from Washington and less than 40 minutes from Vancouver. The scenic layout has fairways lined with mature trees and the greens are large and undulating. There are also creeks that weave across the golf course and numerous lakes that come into play. The layout has a classic design that still provides a challenge for all skill levels. Golfers are put to the test right away on the first two holes, a par 4 and a par 3 respectively, which require good course management and thoughtful decision making. Guilford's standout hole though, is the signature 16th. This tough par 3 is modeled after the notorious 12th hole at Augusta National, complete with a stone bridge and water hazard that encircles almost the entire green.

Great course layout and a pleasure to play. Pace of play was slow and no Marshal around which Led to a 4:40 round. Green in excellent condition for this time
Of year.
Not worth the price in current conditions
Very disappointed with the condition of the course. I understand there has been a lot of rain lately, but the course was in extremely poor shape and there was no communication beforehand. For the price being charged, I expected much better or at least a heads up so golfers could decide if they still wanted to play.
Golf Etiquette and Rules
While the staff is great I highly suggest that they tell anyone starting a round, about course pacing etiquette and rules, I play at this course quite regularly because of the pricing, but it is becoming less and less appealing because there's usually a bunch of Yahoo's who either don't play golf or don't know about the rules or golf etiquette and are not considerate to other people's time or the course itself. I think if rules or upheld and stated clearly this would be a great course but unfortunately it is not.
Sunday Golf
The course is still VERY SOFT. Still drying out. Balls were plugging and basic winter conditions on a very sunny day. Greens were ok,fast roll. Its a great course when dry but a bit of a slog in the wet months but HEY, first world problems. No jets flying,no bombs going off. No problem.✌️
Staff called before round to let us know that we could not use power carts as they needed them back before 445pm. Our tee time was 114pm. Yet on the back 9, we saw a group behind us with a power cart. Also one staff member was quite rude in explaining to other member of our group why it takes 1.5 hours to clean the carts as they close.at 6pm. Very disappointing.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience at your golf course. Our round took over five hours to complete, which I found excessive and frustrating. The pace of play was significantly affected by two groups ahead of us, who were playing extremely slowly. As a result, the group behind us frequently pressured us to speed up, making it very uncomfortable and difficult to enjoy the game.
Although the marshal approached us and mentioned that our group was playing a little slowly, he did not seem to address the real issue—that the groups ahead were causing the delays. While I appreciate that the marshal was polite and encouraged us to keep moving, I believe more could have been done to manage the overall pace of play, particularly by addressing the slow play of the earlier groups.
Additionally, our round started seven minutes later than scheduled, further compounding the delays. Nearly every hole involved a wait of five to eight minutes, which made the experience quite unpleasant.
Overall, I am disappointed with how the situation was handled and hope that attention can be given to improving pace-of-play management in the future, particularly by ensuring that all groups maintain a reasonable speed so everyone can enjoy their time on the course.

The course conditioning at Guildford Golf and Country Club is generally well-regarded, with fairways typically described as lush and well-maintained, providing a good playing surface across the course. The greens are notably large and offer a true roll, contributing to a positive putting experience for many golfers. However, some reviews mention that the greens could benefit from more consistent upkeep, pointing out issues such as un-repaired ball marks that can affect putting quality. Additionally, there have been occasional comments on drainage problems in certain areas, which can impact course conditions after heavy rain. Overall, the conditioning and greens are seen as solid but with room for slight improvement to reach a higher standard of excellence [yelp +3].
Great value
The course offers a good layout with great overall value for the area. Lots of players results in slower play especially on weekends however.
Ok course
I think the tee time is should be longer, help with the pace of games. Waiting on every tee box is painful.
Has Potential
Greens were, unfortunately, horrible. They are already tough and could've been fun, yet they aren't taken care of by players and course alike.
