Tarandowah Golfers Club
About
Tarandowah Golfers Club has a unique layout that closely resembles traditional Scottish links golf courses. There are undulating greens and sloped fairways that are made up of bentgrass and wispy fescue. Although there are no water hazards, Tarandowah Golfers Club boasts more than 100 deep, sod-faced bunkers that prove to be just as challenging if not more. Strong winds blow through the golf course, a factor that will affect your game if not careful. Tarandowah Golfers Club has several tricky uphill par 4s, but its longest and one of its more challenging holes is the par-5 14th, which stretches to 588 yards.

Bring plenty of balls
This is a really fun course to play. It's link style with lots of bunkers. (When I was in them it was automatically a double bogey). The rough is thick long grass so goodbye ball (when I was in it it was automatically a double bogey). I usually shoot between 85 and 90 but was happy here to break 100...shot a 97. The fairway and greens where in really good shape. BUT the greens where as hard as cement so nothing stayed on whether it was a pitch or punch. However putting conditions where excellent. I really recommend you play here to experience true links style like the Open.
great track
great track, can't wait too play agin, worth the drive.hard too stay out of traps, need good shots off the tees, can set up hole's for pars or birdies.love that course.
A true Links Golf Experience
Really great Links experience. My first true links experience and it does not disappoint. Course was challenging but fun to play. Great value and highly recommend if you're looking for a great links golf experience.
Truly a Links course
Awesome Links style course and a fun round after just watching the Open Championship at Carnoustie. The is in wonderful shape and a pleasure to play
Great course
Tarandowah is a unique experience unlike other golf courses in the area. Despite dry conditions, the course is in great shape.
nice
played there about 6 years ago but played yesterday and it was great the greens where fast but didn't hold a shot but its more like a links curse so no complaints here from myself or my brother
Visually refreshing
Enjoyed a wonderful day at Tarandowah. Based on the course review i was expecting a grand clubhouse and dramatic entrance. This experience is all about the course. I don't play many link style courses so the design of each hole seemed daunting but turned out to be fair with its landing spots. Loved every hole and played some of the best golf of my life.
Thanks Tarandowah for this gem so close to my home town of London.
a midsummer morning
8:30 am start on a perfect Midsummers morn....had not played the course in 5 years...lovely manicured greens and bunkers and fescue galore. My golf bud had a great game ,ME not so much but the ambiance and the lovely course made me enjoy it in spite of my mediocre performance.
A gem of a course in the middle of nowhere but worth the drive from London,Woodstock et al nearby.
The staff were super friendly and a nice couple of red ale pints and crispy fries ended a perfect morning.
Try the place you will like it no matter your golf handicap.
Hard track
Tough links style course. Great challenge. Greens large and true. Bunkers are difficult. Fairways and t boxes were hard. But that adds to the chslllenge. Balls in fescue slow pace of play. Bring lots of balls. Great value for money.
Greens
The greens on this course were finominal.
Fast, smooth, great feel.
Course is really nice for links.
It was ok but I wouldn’t drive back to play again.....course was pedestrian at best. On line ratings were exaggerated.
Unique to this area
First time playing here and playing a links course. Other than the bunkers, which were inconsistent in the amount of sand, it was a great day and will definitely come back.
Not worth the Price
Played this course last year. There was a guy pushing a child in a stroller in front of us and wouldn't let us play through. Gave it another chance today and still was not impressed. There was a fivesome on the course and another group that had a dog in their cart. There was just 2 of us in a cart and a slow foursome in front of us. Very slow play. Greens were dry and hard, fairways were cut short and patchy. Sand traps were hard and half empty. Tee times were running behind and starter seemed confused. Small clubhouse that is situated too far away from the ninth green to grab a bite at the turn. Tee boxes were in rough shape, no ball washers and no range balls available.
This is not a course I would recommend. For the price they charge, there's a lot of other courses in the area that are a much better value.
Slow
Nice course but very slow play. 5.5 hour round. They packed everyone in. Need to space tee times by 2 minutes more.
True greens, Nice people.
We had the pleasure of being paired up with "the greens keeper's wife". She offered great insight when it came to distances and site lines and was cheerful and patient with us. (Not to mention a better golfer than us) There are a ton of bunkers here so we were greatfull for the tips. There wasn't a lot of wind so the course didn't play too difficult but I can certainly see how maybe the next time I may not be as lucky. The greens were perfect and fast. A distance Finder is helpful here to navigate around the sand traps. I will certainly be back for the Scottish links feel and friendly staff.
