About
The Valley Course is a heavily forested golf course is the original layout at the club. The course is unique in that it has relatively short yardages rated with such high slopes mainly due to the tight fairways and numerous elevation changes. The driver will most likely stay in your bag while the long irons will be used often. The golf course is very tight, offering an ideal place to get some practice with irons. It is also provides an ideal warm-up round for the more difficult course at the Horseshoe Resort, the Highlands Course.

We had a 5 player group a head of us which slowed the pace down.
Do the handicapped not golf?
As a senior requiring, and certified, assisted parking I was very disappointed to find that no assisted parking spaces were provided near the pro shop. It was a busy Saturday and I had to park a good distance from the check in booth.
Why is this?

The cart paths were a little rough but the greens were nice, and the elevation made for a great golf game

Not worth the money paid
Today was the first time playing horseshoe so I didn’t really have an expectations heading into my round. Leaving it i promised I wouldn’t be going back unless the price was a fraction of what I paid. The course was in horrendous shape right from the moment we got to the first tee. The Tee boxes were burnt and rock solid, you could barley get a tee in the ground. Fairways were almost non existent. They were either “ground under repair” spots or the grass was completely dead, clay, gravel or some sort of non fairway grounds. The greens were the only half decent part of the course, and even at that they still were far from anything to brag about. The course is in need of a much needed overhaul or possible a new superintendent that knows what they are doing. Definitely a disappointing first experience at horseshoe. Unfortunately I can’t see myself going back anytime soon.

good value if you find a sale price
Greens are excellent.Most fairways are mediocre.Several cart paths are washing out with heavy rains.

Outstanding Vista
Greens and fairways well groomed. But rough was too long...couldn't get out. Difficult holes a challenge but loved it. Will play again. 12 holes perfect....doesn't take up your entire day.

12 holes could have been a great value but...
Horseshoe once had 2 courses, the highlands (good) and the valley (average) and its reduced now to just the valley, and it's been reduced to 12 holes. It has the potential to be the greatest bang for buck in the area, but sadly it remains over priced. Hot deals on golf now seem the only way to pay what the course is worth.
