Horseshoe Resort - Valley
About
The Valley Course is a heavily forested golf course is the original layout at the club. The course is unique in that it has relatively short yardages rated with such high slopes mainly due to the tight fairways and numerous elevation changes. The driver will most likely stay in your bag while the long irons will be used often. The golf course is very tight, offering an ideal place to get some practice with irons. It is also provides an ideal warm-up round for the more difficult course at the Horseshoe Resort, the Highlands Course.

Nice course...if you're right handed.
The course is undergoing some changes (construction) however overall it plays well if you're right handed. Most courses are designed for the right handed players however this course heavily discriminates against a south paw. Even to the extent that any holes that are not dog legs (ALL dog legs on this course go left to right) will have a tree or some other obstruction or the right side of the fairway just off the tee to block the left handed golfer. Also, the day we played every single set of blue tee deck markers were situated on the far right hand side of the tee boxes. Not enjoyable! As a left handed golfer (of which there are many in Canada) I will never pay to play the course again!!!
Nice
Fun course, good price. Pretty cheep.
Good course
Weather was windy and cold but we persevered!! Consruction going on so Pro Shop? was in the ski area.We asked where to get a coffee and lady behind the counter did not know.Took about 20 min to get hot dog and fries($8).Course is very good and will play again.
Brilliant Fall Day Golfing
Definitely one of the best fall days, crisp sunny & dry in central Ontario. I got one of the best rates from the Hot Deals & enjoyed my monies worth. The course is in great shape considering all the rain we have been getting this past week. It plays quite long & has several demanding holes that requires accurate shot making. Long drives are the normal requirement in order to reach greens in regulation. Most greens were aerated but some were still smooth & challenging. I will be playing again soon before the winter weather arrives. My hat goes off to all running the course, well done.

Loved the course
Would play this course again, no question.
Beautiful course.
Course was in great shape despite the rain.
Greens were smooth and very fast - challenging.
Layout is tight, a good test of your golf skills. Had a great time despite the cool weather.
Nice course
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Course in good shape . Greens very fast. Some beautiful views. Overall great course.
Horseshoe Valley Course
Four old buddies from the old Eaton's days reunited to play. We had a great time on a course that challenged all our levels of play. We did have an incident on the 11th hole where one of our group lost a ball near the creek in front of the green and where he sunk to his waist in a quagmire (unmarked)...it took 3 of us to pull him out...a very dangerous situation. However later it was laughable.
Great Scenery and Challenging
Lovely views from several holes. Tight fairways make this relatively short course fairly challenging. Staff very friendly. Golfnow rates give good value.
The course had wonderful fall colours. A pleasure to golf this time of year.
The course was in good shape but was under repair.
If the weather was better I am sure we would have enjoyed it more.
Want To Go Back
I absolutly loved this course.
my dad, a friend and I all went to horseshoe valley and played the highland course and fell in love. a tradition woodland course you cannot see any holes except for the ones you are on. every hole was a story and for my dad and myself who are mid 80s golfers found it to be the perfect amount of challenge. my friend is a beginner how ever challenging found the course to be beautiful and fun.
the staff was amazing. the most difficult part was finding the course off the main road it was not well marked as you enter the subdivision which the course winds through!
Beautiful course with fall colors
Beautiful course to golf in the fall, the views are spectacular from most of the holes, narrow greens so if you don't shoot straight, bring extra balls. Was not impressed with the Crazyhorse Saloon, bun was stale for all 4 orders,, but overall the course itself was challenging & fun.
Fall Round
Narrow fairways with challenging greens. The pace of play was slowed by a group in front. They need to have a marshal on the course to get the slow players moving.
great value
very good value at %50 off. some tight fairways.
beautiful trees etc.
great value
great value for the 34 dollars with a cart from golfnow the course is in good shape but the carts are not
Good course - poor conditions
I called about two hours prior to round - it had rained for the past 12 hours - heavy rain - called about cancellation policy - I was told to call Golf Now - resort then told me Golf Now would call to confirm if raining - the resort lady said the rain would clear on radar so everything would be going as planned. We went and it rained on and off at least 10 times - ground was saturated - I will not go back
Very scenic
Enjoyed the challenge. Cart ride rough on the paths in rough shape. Greens very quick and responsive for this time of year. Would like to play course again!
surprised
a challange for all golfers very scenic.with resortfacilities available its a grat getaway spot
Hit it straight and stay below the pins!
Course has very narrow fairways, smaller greens that putt very fast and true and lots of elevation change. Club selection is important in course management. Using irons or utility clubs are often the best strategy on a lot of holes. The greens are very sloped and very dangerous if you are putting from above the pins. Scenic course that presents itself very well. Criticisms are the the poor and rough cart path conditions in many parts. The carts are not in the best condition and appear to be rejects from the Highlands course.
Very Tight Course
Front nine you need to be very accurate with your irons. I only used my driver maybe 5 times during the round. The greens are tough, slopping in different directions and hard to make accurate putts. Good value for the money even though it's a far drive from Toronto.
