Horseshoe Resort - Valley

Overall condition of the course very poor. Greens a bit to slow. Tee Blocks not well maintained. With a upgrade of the maintenance course would be great. For the rate I paid (GN hot deal) it was okay. Pace of play very slow (resort course)&long weekend. I liked the layout, lots of elevation changes and views.

The Valley at one time was a premier course. It turn to a a vacation resort course and dropped in Quality.

On our visit the greens were not cut super slow and plenty of burnt areas on the greens.

Even with the Golf Now deal it was to much and has a long road to go to get back to a 100 course.

The course was good but the greens were pretty beat up and the hole would pull right out when taking the flag out. Overall the course was ok but I would not go back if I have to pay more then $65 dollars with a cart.

Played this course 20 years ago. It was a treat.

Apparently this course had gone to 12 holes and back to 18 recently. Needs a lot of TLC to bring it back to where it was year ago.

Very tight course and a nice layout. Played with three locals fellows and we have a great time. If you play it bring a lot of balls. I would guess our foursome lost close to two dozen balls. I lost four myself. If you get off the fairway you likely will lose your ball. Greens are very small and very slow. Lots of slope to them as well.

The staff were very friendly and told me they are sinking money into the course now to bring it back to its old glory days. I would play it again once it has matured. Overall it was an enjoyable day playing with the three locals

From tips, it’s 5,559 yards, so it’s a short track. It’s challenging due to mature tree lines and elevation, so you need to be selective with your shots. Fun course to sharpen your iron play and short game.

One negative was pace of play. We started at back nine, which was fine but when we got to front nine, it was extremely slow. Sometimes two groups waiting at a hole.

Greens are slow, but it could be by design as fast greens could mean longer pace of play especially since this is part of a resort with lots of casual players.

I used to play this course all the time before it switched to 12 holes. It was tight but always in good shape. Once it went down to 12 i didnt play it again. When i heard it was back to 18 with 6 holes revitalized by someone who works at Muskoka bay i thought for sure it was going to be great. I kid you not, the only thing i noticed that was different was they added a new green that split a par 5 into a par 3 and they added sand (way too much) to a handful of traps on those holes. The greens were the slowest i have ever played. Like i honestly stopped keeping track of my score after 4 holes because i didnt even feel like i was playing real golf. Unless you get a deal for like 30 bucks, this is not even close to worth the price.

The tee boxes were in poor condition and the greens were the worst played all season. Less expensive courses are inbetter condition.

Fantastic for us old guys! 12 holes is perfect.

Layout ( for now at least) is great.

I would recommend anyone at anytime!

Future looks good for the course

This is a 12 hole, not 18, however courses are well maintained. Had a great time.

the Horseshoe Valley golf course needs to invest in all aspect of the course. Irrigation, bunkers, tee blocks, greens cart paths.

The course may be preparing the new 6 holes for the near future but much attention needs to be paid to the current 12 holes that are open.

The course more than doubled the membership rates from last year but have not justified the increase. Most of the previous year members did not return!

The staff are very friendly and professional.

Lots of elevated t box's and greens. It's a challenging course and fun to play. I never get tired of playing there. It's a great value for the $.
