About
The Valley Course is a heavily forested golf course is the original layout at the club. The course is unique in that it has relatively short yardages rated with such high slopes mainly due to the tight fairways and numerous elevation changes. The driver will most likely stay in your bag while the long irons will be used often. The golf course is very tight, offering an ideal place to get some practice with irons. It is also provides an ideal warm-up round for the more difficult course at the Horseshoe Resort, the Highlands Course.

Golfer Reviews
Terrible,
Course was in horrible condition, t boxes fairways and greens were pathetic. Do not waste your time on this dump.
Avoid this course until MGMT fixes it
Just played this course today and it was a complete waste of time and money. Tee decks and fairways are dried up, greens are covered in brown patches with no grass, and nothing looks maintained — not even mowed properly.
It’s especially unfair for customers driving from far, only to find the course in this condition. Management should close the course, fix it properly, and only reopen when it’s playable. Charging people for this is unacceptable.
Great Staff
I wanna give a great review because of the staff. From the Poo Shop attendant to the Marshall and the
Beverage cart, everyone was so helpful and friendly. However, the shape of the course was not very good, Bunker's were hard , with very little sand and not maintained, fairways had very little grass and some greens and tee boxes were just not nice. The layout of the course is very good and challenging but I hope they spend more money and time on making the conditions more enjoyable.
Not worth the money
The course is in very poor shape, many greens are virtually unplayable. The fairways are equally in poor shape. We have golfed many local courses that have cheaper green fees but conditions 100 % better. We feel the quality of Horseshoe Valley’s course does not justify the fees you are charging!!! We are very disappointed to play a resort course that is in such poor shape. We feel we should be compensated in some way for the poor conditions at Horseshoe Valley. Historically Horseshoe Valley had a reputation of a beautiful champion course. It certainly doesn’t live up to this now!
What happened to the Valley Course?
This used to be a great golf course....now its not worth the money and its virtually unplayable ....fairways are sparse , greens , tees and bunkers are a disaster.....I won't be back until there is some improvements made to the golf course ...sad.
Terrible Shape
This course has definitely been neglected terribly. All courses are suffering because of lack of rain. But this one has not been maintained.
Very disappointed.
Disappointed.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. The staff felt unwelcoming from the start. We had booked 18 holes but were only allowed to play 9—while that was understandable, it would have been helpful if they had informed us in advance.
Additionally, we were charged an unexpected $20 extra for our partners just to sit in the cart, which felt like a hidden fee for non-golfers. On top of that, the staff’s attitude throughout the visit wasn’t particularly friendly.
Yes the weather has been dry but the course is not in good condition. Some tee off blocks have no grass and some of the putting greens are in need of attention.
Cost should reflect the conditions.
Ok.
I played the course 25 years ago and it was a really nice little course. Conditions have fallen off greens, tees and fairways are all in poor condition with little grass. Too bad.
Terrible course condition
've never seen a golf course in this area in such poor condition—especially one that calls itself a resort. Ironically, the greens visible from the main road are in perfect shape, while the rest of the course is in deplorable condition. Some tee boxes are basically just sand. This feels more like a cash grab than a genuine golf experience. In its current state, it's worth maybe $50 at best.
Pierre
WARNING: value rates at $30 (18 holes with cart)
Disappointed Freed Owneeship takes over and turned what once was a decent golf course into 'resort golf prices' for a below average golf course. Don't waste your $$$ golfing at this place.....it really should be $35 MAX for 18 holes with a cart.
