Southbrook Golf and Country Club
About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf & Country Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf & Country Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

Cold rainy day at Southbrook
Went to Southbrook during a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon in May. First time I have been there in over 10 years and honestly it was very nostalgic and the course is just as beautiful as I remember. The course was in excellent shape given the conditions, greens played moderately fast, fairways were in really good shape and the rough lies were challenging but manageable. Pace of play was excellent although perhaps that may have been attributed to the weather. Total play through was about 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Staff was expedient and courteous. The course amenities were very good, the Marshall's are diligent but not pushy. This course is long and can be narrow in some areas, the long par 5's are challenging. The winding creek comes in to play frequently.
They have made some modifications to the holes more recently and it will get a bit confusing after the 14th so be sure to ask someone about this before the round if you are uncertain. I was with an amazing group of people who play the course frequently so I was lucky. Overall, its as good as I remember it and I highly recommend getting a round in here if you get a chance.
Great shape
For it being the first week opening it's in great shape. Greens were slow and bumpy but were very healthy.
Great value and great time.
Good spot when you're near
Pace of play was ok for a Sunday in April - Tons of golfers waited on every hole but to be expected here. Staff was friendly, Group was great. Not having the range open sucked, but the complimentry grilled cheese was cool.
I'd say giver a go when your near, don't put it on your bucket list.
CART
I asked power cart for 18 holes rounding
But they removed all of them
The course was not short n the weather was cold n I’m not young
So played only 3 holes
3 holes….
Nothing has changed
Short course should be played in under 4 hours by a foursome. We were 5 plus hours. I played in a league here years ago it had fast greens and some nice golf holes. Greens were slow and the pace was slow. Won’t be back until things change
Power cart
I wanted to rent a power cart but the course removed them
I paid for 18 holes but I took only 3 holes
Because the weather n course conditions
I’m so sad
I visited this golf course previously and remember the field conditions being excellent at the time. However, the group ahead of us was quite slow, so we were only able to complete 9 holes. I decided to return, but this time, I noticed there were no information signs on the Out Nine, and the course didn’t seem to be well-maintained. Given the price, the upkeep was rather disappointing. Having been let down twice now, I’m not coming back.
Played as a hot deal
Okay for the discounted hot deal but definitely Not worth the full price. Much better courses for cheaper within 10 miles. Took 20 minutes to make a sausage at the half way The course layout on the back9 is very poor. With 10holes instead of 9.We had to skip hole 13 and my GPS never knew which hole I was on from the 12th to the 18th.
Slow play
Had good company and fine weather and good course conditions to bad the pace of play destroyed any enjoyment to be had actually golfing. 4 hrs 40 minutes to play 16 holes. Ranger was out there but said it was backed up on every hole. Well it seems some members of the course who tee'd off earlier in the day drag there feet to screw it up for everyone else. Stopped after 16 as running out of daylight. Add on the 30 plus minute delay due to fog earlier in the day and no email from the site. I think a lot of new golfers and old have lost some golf etiquette when it comes to keeping the pace. Just finished another 18 on another course and it took 5 hours.
Good day
Staff is great, amenities are great, front 9 is in good shape, back 9 greens have already been areated so tough to putt, tee boxes are pretty hammered from the season, lots of unfixed ball marks on greens (thats on ignorant players) small greens make for a tough but enjoyable round. Was a pricey round for this late in the season, especially when it's posted as a "hot" deal - round, cart, taxes, service fees 92.00? People were friendly and the beer was cold 👍 will play again, but will try for a better deal.
The course only had 15 holes open… which is fine when you know ahead of time. We werent told and paid full rate.
