Southbrook Golf and Country Club

About
Nestled in the quaint village of Binbrook, Southbrook Golf & Country Club has a charmingly idyllic yet convenient location that is only minutes from the QEW, the 403, and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway. The club first opened in 1969 with a nine-hole golf course, which was later expanded to 18 holes in 1972. A renovation of the golf course resulted in a redesign of five holes on the front nine and a new irrigation system. Southbrook Golf & Country Club now plays to a 6,560 yards and its new challenges demand precision and keen course strategy. The meandering Welland river snakes through the golf course as well, coming into play on 13 holes while also enhancing the natural beauty of the course.

Great Quality Course!
Took my son (12 years old) here for Fathers Day yesterday and is was great. The course is well taken care of. Greens, Fairways and rough all nice. I few 500+yard holes and 2-3 shorter (170) holes. Lots of trees for shade. Some nice straight aways and a some more challenging ones. No construction on any holes. Played the front 9. It had a few water challenges and bunkers. It started a few minutes late (maybe 20) which wasn’t too bad being the busiest day of the year and we had a noon tee off. We didn’t have to wait for anyone once on the course. They teamed us up with a nice couple which made it nicer for my son teeing off with the women. Carts were ok shape. Check-in was nice and easy. Girl at front was polite and great customer service. Small little golf shop that has all your needs. The older gentleman putting us together and organizing things outside did a great job. Especially with it being so busy. They have a practice green as you wait. They had the girl driving around with coolers, beers, pop and water which got us around the 8th hole which was nice. They have a bar and restaurant but we don’t go. Maybe another time. Parking was perfect. Lots of areas to park in. Just grab your cart and drive over to your car to load up. We had a perfect Father’s Day so many thanks to everyone that made it a special day for my son and I. 5 stars all around.
Never disappointed
This course never disappoints , Oliver and staff have done alot of work on the course and keep it well maintained.
Play it
Nice course. Appreciated the length. Fairways and greens were excellent. Consistent speed on greens. Rough was on the longer side and bizarrely difficult to find balls in. Pace was horrendous… tee times should be scheduled 10mins apart rather than 8mins. Will play again.
Overall pretty good
I've gone there the past 2 weekends in a row with 2 very different experiences.
The first weekend there was absolutely nobody on the course and the staff was very friendly and welcoming, overall a very pleasant experience.
The second weekend was absolutely packed, stuck behind 2 foursomes. Started at 4:16pm got to hole 10 by 7:40 when we were interrupted by the super. He said we were not going to be able to finish our round and we had by 8 pm and return our carts. He was a different super from the first day and he was very intrusive stopping us 5 or 6 times throughout the 13 holes we were able to finish with a manor that seemed as though he was interrogating us. All the other staff was again super friendly and welcoming.
Two very different experiences but overall a lovely course, one of my favorites in the area.
Great course horrible pace of play
Great course but they oversell the tee times, you never start at the tee time start and you won't finish a round in 4 hours. Most rounds are 5 hours+ so if you enjoy waiting on every tee block to play with sometimes two groups waiting ahead then sure. Would not suggest booking a tee time for after 4:00p.m twilight as you most likely won't finish in time as carts need to be in by 8:00 p.m and walking 8:30 p.m
Cold rainy day at Southbrook
Went to Southbrook during a cold and rainy Saturday afternoon in May. First time I have been there in over 10 years and honestly it was very nostalgic and the course is just as beautiful as I remember. The course was in excellent shape given the conditions, greens played moderately fast, fairways were in really good shape and the rough lies were challenging but manageable. Pace of play was excellent although perhaps that may have been attributed to the weather. Total play through was about 3 hours and 45 minutes.
Staff was expedient and courteous. The course amenities were very good, the Marshall's are diligent but not pushy. This course is long and can be narrow in some areas, the long par 5's are challenging. The winding creek comes in to play frequently.
They have made some modifications to the holes more recently and it will get a bit confusing after the 14th so be sure to ask someone about this before the round if you are uncertain. I was with an amazing group of people who play the course frequently so I was lucky. Overall, its as good as I remember it and I highly recommend getting a round in here if you get a chance.
Great shape
For it being the first week opening it's in great shape. Greens were slow and bumpy but were very healthy.
Great value and great time.
