Glen Eagle Golf Club - Yellow/Red
About
Located just northwest of Toronto, Glen Eagle Golf Club offers three unique nines that provide three different 18-hole, championship courses. Spread across a scenic terrain of rolling hills and valleys, each course has unique vistas. The Yellow/Red golf course combines the most difficult nine with another that is considerably shorter with many opportunities for birdies. The 3,227-yard Yellow nine provides a gentle start with several short par 4s but prepare yourself for the Red, which stretches to 3,521 yards from the tips. This nine is the most difficult, demanding long drives as well as accurate tee shots. There are also large, elevated greens that are heavily contoured and surrounded by bunkers.

good course
The golf course was in good shape. some greens still shows signs of winter damage but you can see the greens will be in perfect shape soon. We were a little disappointed to find out that we would be playing the same 9 twice due to a tournament. This should have been made clear on the website so we would not have been surprised upon arrival. Otherwise a fun playable course.
nice course
fairways were very good, most of the greens were very good. overall it is worth the higher price and if you get a golfnow deal, its very good
nice course
Played blue/yellow course is in good shape so were greens a few winter burn out spots here and there overall had a good round
Great day of golf!
Our group of 4 had our t-off time at 3:10pm ,and we started at 3:05pm...perfect!
-Starters were friendly and with good direction.
-Group in from of us played from the blues...but were not good enough to do so and slowed our round of golf a little.
-Weather was excellent.
-Conditions of fairways and greens were very good.
-I have golfed here several times in the past, and each occasion was good.
-our golfnow discount allowed us to play for $39.00 including cart. Great value, and I would play again at this rate.
Has potential
Course has nice old trees and good variety of terrain. It could be cleaned up to get to the next level. Greens and some of the sand traps need some work.
Good conditions
Course in good condition for time of year. Helpful and friendly staff. Plus got a great deal.
Good price for this time of year
Not all holes open, played half blue, then yellow. Lots of golf balls hiding under leaves. Still in good shape considering lateness of year.
Late Fall Golf
It was a chilly but playable day at Glen Eagle. Course conditions were as expected. A lot of staff were "winterizing" the course and there were no on-course staff. Players were directed to a hybrid list of holes between the 3 nine-holes. Started at the Blue (3 holes) then 3 Yellow and then the remainder of the front-nine on the Blue. The back-nine was on the Red. Unfortunately, the pro shop sent out players on both sets of tees even though at the turn we had to wait for those beginning their game on the Red course. Very slow on the back nine.
The course is very nice and has a lot of different elevations. We couldn't find many on-fairway yardage markers and some of the Par-3s had no visible markers at all.
There was no clubhouse services available although there is a conference center with facilities available but not to the golfers. We had to negotiate for a cup of coffee.
I'm sure the course is nice during the height of the golf season and would recommend it.
Course looks to be closing for season
Normally this course is a great day with plenty of challenge and good conditions. Playing conditions yesterday were frankly poor. Aerated/sandy greens and leaves left on the greens lead to disappointment. Looks like they're closing for the season. May be worth the hot deal price however be prepared for less than average conditions.
I really enjoyed the course. Great day
Good layout. Really nice greens. Course well looked after.
Only negative was the hard sand in the traps. Need new sand
Overall a fun course
Zero course management
Course over books - they have golfers teeing off and at the same time having WEDDING PARTY TAKE PICTURES DRIVE THROUGH COURSE - while golfers are still on course. Why would you allow Wedding party to take pictures right in the middle of your paying golfers round. We found the starters very dismissive - I 'm not interested in playing 6 HOUR ROUNDS. Also finshed round Finally at end of the course and have to drive back - NEVER heard of such stupidity - ALL the cart paths are dirt so you get the behind dust thankyou very much for that - again poor management and very impolite staff -I am a paying customer and my group should be given courtesy - as if we don't want you hear - we don't need your money - we don't make your round enjoyable -Take this Glen eagles of Gold Now -its pathetic and I will definitely tell others never to go to that unprofessional outdated course ever.
Nice course
Course was in great shape. The greens were fantastic
always been a good course
gleneagle always been a good course, just thought it was a little disorganised,as i got a prepaid tee time but they couldnt figure out who to put me with as i was alone, and the starter was the most unfriendly person i seen ,just so abrupt, and sounding rude, when people pay to play on any course, the staff should show how much they appreciate the golfer, not show the golfer that they are doing em a favour to play on there course,
A public course that looks and plays like a private course.
Glen Eagle has been around for around 50 years. The mature trees and undulating fairways, with many elevation changes make for many uneven lies. The course punishes you if you stray from the fairways. The trees that line most fairways often will block any attempt to reach the greens from the rough, forcing you to play back into the fairway before having a shot at the green.
The greens were lightning fast and true on the day that we played. The course was in very good shape, for the most part except for some ground under repair near the cart paths, which is not uncommon in a public course.
The pace of play was leisurely, due to late season weekday booking. We never waited more than a couple of minutes on the tees and we weren't being pushed.
As an old guy, I appreciate that.
A great deal for the money
Booked the day before and played the old 18. A great value. The greens were well cared for and FAST. The t decks although cut recently, were covered in broken tees, some decks I would say 50-60. Terrible as you need to clear the deck to avoid being distracted by them. The starter was useless. He was focused on who knows what and didnt assist in the slightest. 2 women who were to play with my son and I were 8 minutes late and were fumbling around with purses, hats etc so we went ahead of them. As a starter at one of Canada's top course, I appreciate the importance of timely play and to be ready when called to the deck. This guy wasnt focused on his job. BUT the course is generally well cared for and well worth the drive and dollar value.
good course well priced
Good course well priced, friendly staff and well maintained. Played all 9's and found them to be all equally enjoyable
Very good value for the money. Nice variety of holes across 3 nines.
Greens were in very good shape and the pace of play for my early morning round was great. Overall, a course I recommend.
Great course with enough challenge for a terrific and fun game of golf!
Love the course which was in really good condition. We had a great afternoon and would definitely come back again. We only wished that someone had told us when we started that the 'Halfway House' was not in operation so we would have have bought some lunch when the cart came around.
Thanks for a good day!
Great Value
Still best course for the price you pay. They left a lot of grass clippings on the fairways which was kind of a pain but everything else looked great. Someone give that starter a hot assistant or something. He's a little grumpy.
Excellent conditions
Course was in great shape. Rough was a little high due to recent rains, so presented a good challenge...good shots rewarded and bad shots adequately penalized but not severely so. Nice mix of shorter and longer holes with lots of elevation change. Tough course for higher handicap golfers as terrain rarely gives you a level lie.
Good pace of play at about 4 hours (foursome) even though the course looked quite full. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Marshalls were seen on the course but not in your face.
Got a great Hot Deal price, which was a bonus, but would highly recommend the course even at Golf Now's regularly featured prices at $50-60 or even the course's posted prices.
