Club at Bond Head - South

Bunkers were a disgrace. If you’re going to leave bunkers in this condition just fill them with grass. Should knock $20 off the cost because of the bunkers.

Many bunkers are overgrown and are in need of a lot of work.

Greens are usually quick, pins were placed precariously. No trouble you can adjust , the amount of unrepaired ball marks was astounding. I play many public courses and this was the worst I’ve seen in some time. I just cannot comprehend the lack of courtesy and etiquette at this place.

I'm going to start by saying I've always loved this golf course, I love the layout, the challenge, everything. They've really let it slip though. When this place opened it was immaculate, now the course looks run down and unkept entirely. The bunkers are totally unplayable, most are essentially dried clay, others have weeds, fescue or drainage pipe growing out of them. The greens have massive bare patches all over them and nobody fixes ball marks. The tee boxes are cut unevenly and the cart paths are washed away all over the place.

The staff don't even talk to you when you walk down to the loading area, you're left to find your own cart (which is fine its COVID) but greet the people playing there at least still.

Clublink seems to have really let this place go, I've played twice this year now and had hoped my first experience was the exception. I will not be going back.

I have always loved playing Bond Head South and have been playing it for years, happily going back over and over again….I won’t be going back anymore however.. I played on June 22nd and had to change carts twice before the fifth hole because the carts kept dying and I couldn’t make it up hills. I had to let both carts roll backwards until I could turn back towards the clubhouse. By the 5th hole I was riding in my third cart of the day. I won’t publicly rattle on about the unacceptable reception I got in the clubhouse but i hope someone from Clublink contacts me so I can let them know. Today I had a 3:36pm tee time and.my cart died again. The problems started on the 13th hole and I had to push it and jump back in and somehow it re-started. I had to do this again on 14, 15, 16, and then it completely conked out on 17. I called the clubhouse and thankfully someone came and got me into a new cart so I could get off the course.I didn’t finish the round as I would have had to push into other groups and that wouldn’t have been fair and obviously it would have been very awkward as I didn’t want to ruin other people’s experiences just cause my day at Bond Head South was terrible. I really hope someone from Clublink contacts me to discuss, as what happened today and on June 22nd were definitely NOT cool.

I played at Bond Head's South Course for the first time. I walked away really happy and had a lot of fun. I thought the layout and greens had challenging designs that would even challenge scratch-level golfers. The setting was picturesque. Aside from the design, the course was challenging in other ways. In general, the greens were not in great shape. There were many dried-up ball marks from a lot of wear and not enough maintenance. The greens also didn't roll consistently -- some were faster than others. The fairways and rough weren't groomed very well. With some more maintenance and care, this would be a favourite of mine.

Course was nice. Staff a bit aggressive. Starter not that friendly. Didn’t let me use car to take clubs in. Not like I’m 40 again. Could be have used the help. When I went back to get them, I did see some players with carts getting bags. :(

The course has a nice layout and is overall quite nice, but the maintenance ruins it. The grass in the rough is over the top too long, makes it virtually impossible to find your ball, even when you miss the fairway by less than a foot. It seems to be done on purpose but it ruins the experience, as it takes everyone too long to locate their ball, even on relatively good shots.

This enjoyable round was diminished by the foursome ahead, whose course efficiency had a lot to be desired. The round was 4 hours and 50 minutes because of them. It’s desirable that a golf club sends a ranger to track back through the course and when they see large gaps opening up, pass on some friendly encouragement to pick up the pace.
