My Bond South review
Course was in really good condition and greens were nice and sneaky fast. Purchased the golf from golf now with a nice deal otherwise price is to steap. Staff was nice and i enjoyed my time on the course.
Thank You GolfNow
I played the Bond Head a number of times. However, if not for the special deal I got from GolfNow, a repeat is a challenge. Bond Head is still my No. 1 Golf Course. I brought my new GPS watch but the reading in the cart provided GPS was showing different readings. Nonetheless, It's all common sense when picking the right club.
An enjoyable fair test
This is one the best Heathland style course around. Conditions of the greens are typically fast and true. My only criticism for the course was the conditions of the bunkers. They were hard and dried out dirt like bunkers. One would think that a course that typically charges guests $185, to have top level sand. Other than that, the course layout, views, and playing conditions are excellent.
Open and Hilly Course
Large fairways but if you don't hit them you're in trouble. Greens are undulating
Excellent course
excellent course, but I must say that there are a few areas on the course that unnecessarily penalize you even after making a great shot. I guess it could be considered part of course management if you played there before, but if you're not very familiar with the course there is garbage that can ruin a hole after a solid tee shot.
Otherwise fantastic course!
Glad I didn't pay full price
I played the North Course a couple of years back and found the layout confusing and a bit "gimmicky". Played the South Course yesterday, and have to say that the layout is more traditional, and that there are a couple of memorable holes (i.e. 7 and 12) along the way.
Course conditions were not pristine, there were lots of bad patches on the fairways and most of the bunkers are rock-hard and clearly need attention, and sand.
We paid a very reasonable price for the round, which is good, because I would not see the value in paying full rate ($100+) for this when I could go a bit west and play Osprey Valley, which is always in terrific condition, and for less $ ......
very long and tough course
Love the long part 3s couple of very long part 4s as well. Overall it was a great day and the when the winds are gusting everything becomes much more difficult
Great course
The South course is a great track, much different than the North as it is flat with only a couple of forced carries. The conditions were good, the green were punched about 1 week ago and are still plying slow - sand traps were muddy from previous nights rain. The fall scenery was spectacular.
great course
Excellent course....friendly helpful staff....too bad due to rain it was cart path but did not deter the experience.....really good condition in spite of recent heavy rains....still ranking as one of my 3 favorite places to play.....
There NO gimmes on this course
I love this place! You work for every hole. A real test of your skills. I will be back to test the north course.
Consistentcourse and service-top level
From bag drop to check-in to starter to marshals to cart service to exit this is a professionally run, customer service-oriented, upscale course (with free range and practice facilities).
Challenging but fair from tee to green and hellish on the greens provides a great test from five different sets of tees. Play the correct set of tees for your driving distance and you'll have fairway-green opportunities with the right clubs to make you're having the right test of YOUR abilities.
Tough Greens! Tougher Sunday pins!
The course itself was in fantastic shape when we played. My only complaint would be that the pin positions were incredibly difficult. I am a single digit handicap player and ended up with 42 putts that day. I enjoyed myself greatly but needed to whine about my putter a little bit....
First Time Player at this Course
Very impress with course for this time of year.
Had an enjoyable outing. Thanks to Golfnow.com.
Found some holes very challenging. Greens very undulating, and require good read.
good course, poor value
We played the course in mid-October. It was very wet and cart paths only. It made for a very grueling, tiring round.
The course layout is great. A variety of holes using the beautiful, natural landscape very effectively. The fairways were wide, but strategically positioned bunkers made the holes challenging. The bunkers were unplayable, mostly because of the rain, but partly because of neglect. The greens were slow and very bumpy.
I felt the price we payed using golfnow was a bit excessive and not good value for the experience.
I would only recommend the course if the price dropped to around $80 for this time of year.
Links style course
Rated as one of the top public course in Canada. Excellent green speed, must put your ball in the correct position on the green to score or looking at 3 putts. Links style design with fescue along fairways and bunkers.
Gorgeous day for golf!
Course was in great shape. Had a real nice layout. Each hole was different where you can layup and play it safe or go for it and get rewarded. It pays to stay in the fairway for this course. Seemed like the green speed varied on some of the holes, some were fast, and some were slower. I don't know why there was a marshal driving around cause he was absolutely useless. We flew through the front around an 1 1/2 hours and then on the back it took us over 3 hours waiting 15 mins to hit a shot. We seen a couple groups just pack it in and head to the front.
picuresque holes will have you reaching for every club in your bag at some point
Gorgeous views. Manicured fairways and greens. Staff was young, probably summer co-op. Could use some hospitality training but not rude. I prefer the South course over the North just because of the layout and feel. Great value for the money.
nice greens and fairways, but stay our of that rough!
Played the South Course - course was in nice shape, greens and fairways especially nicely maintained. The rough cut was extremely deep grass, and very difficult to get any kind of hittable lie, I assume that was by design, as the course sort of had a whistling straights feel to it. some bunkers were not playable due to poor sand conditions and severe grass overgrowth in some. clubhouse was nice as well, but on the day we golfed there was no beverage cart; no halfway house as well, clubhouse staff was friendly though, got us out on the course pretty quickly. we got a 2 4 1 deal so with the price I paid, I would say its about average for what you get, especially given its distance from Toronto (about an hours drive with no traffic) I would probably not golf here if I had to pay the full rate, as there are a number of other GTA golf courses that I would prefer for the price.
played the south course. Found it easier to play than Eagles Nest. Less sand traps and wide fairqways. Gps on cart was useful,
Played south course, found it to be easier to play than Eagles Nest. Less sand traps and hazards. Gps was ok but the score card should provide a better hole preview.
I'll be back to play the North course.
Weather conditions were very windy, made for a challenging round.
The course itself was very challenging, plays long but it is also a beautiful track.
