Golfer Reviews
Course is good for beginners as pace is very slow
It took us more than 4 hrs to complete 9 hole.. There were no marshals to control the pace.
Group ahead of us slowed us down and were playing atleast 2-3 balls every shot.
I would recommend beginners to try this out as there is no time limit and any sorts of restrictions.
Atleast they had drinks cart coming out frequently so had a good time drinking .
I would come back unless I am taking anyone to coach or train.
Anger Management
Yesterday I was booked to play at 2:40 pm and had already payed via golf now. Upon arrival the club house office was locked and there was no sign indicating the reason of closure anywhere. Seeing as I had already pre payed I went on to play according to my tee time as other players were also on the course playing and some people came to play after my arrival as well. Once my time slot had ended at 5pm I headed towards my car and a man sitting on the porch in front of the still closed office came at me aggressively invading my personal space to the point where I could feel his breath on my skin. He was not wearing a mask and I asked him politely to stay six feet away to which he responded rudely by using profanity and aggressively began to question whether I had payed to play and demanded I pay him on the spot. he claimed to be the owner of the property though I did not recognize him as I play at this location often. if he was the owner of the property this behaviour is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I was genuinely afraid that he would begin to get physically aggressive with me and whether or not he was the owner this encounter made feel extremely unsafe. instead of asking for proof of payment, which I would gladly have given, he began to accuse me and become aggressive. later that evening much after my time slot had been over I received and e-mail stating that my time slot had been cancelled and I had not requested it to be done so. This whole experience has been completely unprofessional and I have told all my golf playing friends about it as well and they too will not be returning.
Just sad
I've been coming to this course for yrs and it was good place urs ago but now it's just a joke now how little the owners care about the condition of place..the fairway are dry and hard as rock ..the traps dont even have sand anymore they just let the grass grow over it but real joke is the rakes are still there hahahaha. Its a good place if you are just beginning to play but not if you play a lot but hey 9 holes for less then $30 I guess it's what you get
Horrible course!
Not maintained well. No sand traps. fairways were OK but greens were horrible. 9(th hole has sand traps on the greens. Unbelievable.
Worst of all.... there was no signed indicating which way towards holes. Worst course I've ever played.
So sad
Save your money
Go play Streetsville Glen or BraeBen 9 Hole for an actual golf experience. Parkshore is a cash grab, field of weeds and goose poop, not worth it at $22 a round. Wow.
Horribly maintained and over priced
The only positive is location and layout. A very long 9 hole course where you can use all your clubs. Unfortunately, the course is horribly maintained, sand traps are full of weed, a lot of goose poop. Despite the poor conditions, the course is very busy and sometimes you are waiting for tee-off and 9 holes take close to 2.5-3 hrs. It is expensive considering the conditions and services offered. Price also seems to vary up and down a few bucks without a reasonable explanation. I am only going here because it is very close and I am a beginner
Very Bad
This place is an absolute cow pasture. You know they have access to water because there is this toxic creek that runs through the course with 6 foot high weeds growing out of it, but apparently they don’t know that they should water the grass. Dryer than the Sahara and more barren than a 90 year old after a hysterectomy, this place made me second guess paying $16 to play. The holes didn’t all have the covid things in them either, which I’m not sure is allowed. Yardage sticks are not accurate. Whoever cuts the fairway doesn’t move the yardage sticks so there is huge patches of long grass around them. Greens played rather soft actually if you landed on the part that wasn’t just bare dirt. Bunkers have all grown out into grass bunkers with concrete bottoms. Think of something you hate seeing on a golf course.... they have it. If you like having a terrible lie no matter where you are, you’ve found the place. I paid $16 and felt like I got ripped off. 1/10 would not recommend.
Possibilities but neglected
The course layout is decent with many challenging shot choices. The greens were half dead, the “sand” traps were overgrown, and the fairways were barely grass.
No greens were intact
Attendant was on her phone whilst registering, didn't initiate acknowledging our group in the pro-shop
Bunkers grown over
Essentially dirt fairways
Grass so poor that it's very difficult to find your ball if not mid-fairway
Dishonesty/thievery on top of a below average course
Please beware the owner double/triple charging or adding charges at the time of payment. I paid close to $50 for a course that was advertised as $22.
Coming along but needs a marshal
This is my third straight year coming to Parkshore. I have always liked it for its length and layout, which demands a reasonable amount course management. Conditions are improving every year - keep up the effort! Very slow play is now becoming an issue. A simple fix would be the occasional marshal run, which shouldn't be that difficult.
True dat. He be spittin.
