Burlington Springs Golf Club
About
Situated along the edge of the Niagara Escarpment, Burlington Springs Golf Club offers the most scenic and affordable round in the area. While not quite a championship layout, the golf course does feature some longer holes that play alongside dense, mature forest. There are also some interesting water elements, including an underground reservoir that feeds several ponds that come into play throughout the course. The greens are large and heavily guarded by strategically placed bunkers and while the rest of the course is relatively flat, there is some undulation in the fairways. Burlington Springs is a traditional course that is both challenging and manageable enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels.

Course was in great shape
This course is great for the confidence. Greens are in great shape, and not overly challenging. Fairways are very open, never lost a ball. Teed off early morning golfed at a quick pace. Overall highly recommend for the price and condition of the course.
Not bad for the money
Word of warning to anyone looking at suing this course. If you are a novice/beginner golfer, just play somewhere else. You and/or your foursome will get told to "speed it up" and "pick up the pace" at every chance by the Marshall. This made for a lacklustre outing for my buddy and I who are decent golfers as the pair we were paired up with could not keep up with the expected pace of the course officials.
The couple that was with us eventually abandoned their round early (left after the 13th hole). Pretty sad really.
Ridiculous price for a course of this average quality
I know it was a Sunday morning but $65 per person for a course of this very average quality was not worth it. I might think that this course is worth $40 on a regular basis.
The front nine is basically back and forth with a creek across each fairway - the back nine is more interesting but still not a $65 course. There is very little challenge off the tee, fairways are wide open with the occasional tree int he middle and the greens have virtually no texture - other than a basic slope one way of the other.
The staff were great and the place was packed (so someone must be getting a great deal somewhere but it was not us). The pace of play was good.
At the bottom of my value for money list.
Good Bang for the Buck !!!!
There was a tournament booked on the same day/time as our tee time. I initially thought as a Golf Now customer, that we would be left to the back of the pack. Not so, the staff were awesome in ensuring that our tee off time was kept- they started us off at the 10th tee. I was impressed ! The course was well manicured and clean overall. Finished our round in just under 4 hours. I will definitely play there again !!!
Enjoyable
Enjoyable for most levels of golfers. Excellent condition. We were even able to add a few extra holes to our round!
An old friend
I've been playing this course for over 40 years, usually a dozen or so times a year. Conditions this year are the best I remember and continual improvement over the last half dozen years or so are making a positive difference in the golfing experience. Sand traps are much improved and general condition of the fairways and greens is much better than a decade ago.
I often hear people discount this course who haven't played it for 20 years……they would be pleasantly surprised.
Fairways are generous and the course disarms you as most of the holes appear to be easy…..but position is key as being on the wrong side of the fairway on most holes leads to a difficult second shot that wasn't apparent from the tee.
I always enjoy my visit here…..a great mix of holes.
This course has a variety of holes
This course was very green everywhere with a variety of holes to test ones mettle. A bad shot is usually recoverable as there is a minimum of rough areas. Also, the staff have been busy planting trees and bushes everywhere for future golfers to avoid. Our foursome was around the course in just over 4 hours but were not rushed at all. An enjoyable experience.
Has not chaned much over the years
I found the green every very slow. All three of us were always short of the cup by a large quantity. I could not adjust to the speed. We played the Blues. Must try it another time. The rough was was challenging due to its length
golf
not a bad track. lots of free drops because of roped off planted trees. bring your bug spray!
nice public course
Played with 3 other guys who shot all in the low to mid 80's and the only comment all of us agreed on was the rough was too long for a public course. We noticed some of the players in front of us who were more of intermediate skill level couldn't advance the ball very far. So just a little shorter in the rough and would make world of good for the high handicapper. Solid 4 out of 5.
Gem of a course
Have played this course numerous times.Sure the club house facilaties are a little old and tired, but so what. The course itself is in excellent shape and provides a reasonable challenge for average golf ears, especially seniors ( I am 76 yrs. young), Nice mix of holes. They have just started a tree planting project, planting 25000 trees. You can't beat the price, $42.00 + tax?Played in just over 3 hours, followed by a cold one and delicious sandwich. There are over 20 courses to choose from in our area, and Burlington Springs is definitely one of our favourites.y
Great Value and Enjoyable Day
I've played at Burlington Springs a few times this year. Always a good experience so that's why we come back. The course is not designed to beat you up but provide you with an enjoyable golf experience. The ladies tees are well placed, making the experience less daunting for my wife who's just recently taken up the game. Makes for a great afternoon with my wife and sons.
Marshall Crazy!
Checked in as a twosome well before our T Time and when ready to go we were told to wait for anoother twsome to join us, no problem...we waited 25 minutes without anyone going off the 1st T while the pair was getting ready.
On the 2nd hole the Marshall came up to our 4some and warned that we were Leading the Parade and needed to play fast, hmmm nobody behind us...I explained about the wait on 1st T and nobody going off.
Marshall followed us most of the round to ensure we were setting the pace, sometimes we were 2 or 3 holes ahead of the next group, on 10 he came up and said we needed to eat our food on the run as he had groups backed up behind us...hmmm closest group to us was Teeing off on 9...maybe he should have talked to them?
On 13 he was in the middle of our fairway waving his arms for us to hit up, we thought he wanted us to play through...when we arrived there was nobody on the hole and the group behind us on 11....you get the point!
We played in 4 hours without making the group behind us wait ONCE to hit a shot...
Why didn't they let us go as 2 golfers earlier?
Why so focussed on a group well ahead of everyone else? Very Very annoying to have the Marshall around on at least 12 holes trying to pretend he's adding Value????
Pro Shop advice - show this guy where he needs to be on the course and remind him he does not need to be a part of anyones round unless they absolutely warrant it...as the Dragon's would say,
For that reason, I'm out!
record amount of rain that week in Burlington
Even with record rainfall a couple of days before the course was in good shape. The course is well marked and layed out. I had no issues finding the next hole even though this was the first time i had played
We were paired up with another group even though the course was not busy that day. No groups behind or ahead of us when we arrived.
There are some areas where they are growing shrubs and small trees along the fairways. These play as free drop areas. This does detract from the overall look and play-ability of the course.
Enjoyed my day and would go again
Nice course
Nice little course. Pretty open. They're clearly doing a lot of landscaping to try and increase the difficulty. This course will be a lot more difficult when all the new trees grow up.
Excellent Value
More than full value for the money. Greens in great shape. Each hole presents a different look. Always on my list of places to play in Burlington.
Burlington Springs and Golf Now
First for both course and using Golf Now. Would definitely do both again. Very friendly staff.
