Disappointing Corse Conditions
I've been playing this course for roughly 30 years. It seems to me that the maintenance budget has been cut since ClubLink took over. The bunkers were particularly bad with inconsistent sand, very few rakes to be found, grass growing in some bunkers etc.
First time playing the New Course
Enjoyed the layout, some short holes from the Blue tees.
Greens rolled nicely. loved the layout of some of the holes. Overall good condition. The carts were a disaster. Push on the gas and cart went nowhere. This is embarrassing for a course this good. Several people we spoked to had the same problem. Come on step up Hidden Lake.
Not worth the price
The course is okay. Has potential but appears to be lacking regular maintenance. It's the end of May and there has been no spring clean-up done in the bunkers. Bunkers were full of weeds and could have used more rakes for the golfers.
Just Okay
Paid $55 walking, that’s all this course is worth. Seen some pricing on GolfNow @ $115-$130, would have to incredibly ignorant to the value of money to spend more than $55 to play here. Greens are slower than average, ball marks everywhere, tee blocks fairly hacked up and moved a considerable distance forward (whites & blues). The bunkers are garbage, all baseball diamond brown dirt….need about 40 trucks of Muskoka white sand brought in to even justify some of the green fees. However, please remove the GUR signs everywhere and all the weeds….FIRST. I would play for $55, but it is definitely low on the Clublink maintenance budget. Getting a little tired and run down, staff & starters still great people and very pleasant to deal with. Pace of play was a little slow, but Sunday afternoon golf usually is. Also please note, seen 1 (maybe 2) trash cans on entire course, love stuffing chip bags, and grease burger wrappers in my tour bag.
The Course is going downhill fast
The greens had dead patches - worse than other courses in the area; the rough is loaded with thistles; branches and tree limbs on the ground in too many places - despite the windstorm being 7 days earlier. Half the traps were painted 'GUR', those that weren't look like they hadn't been maintained in 2 years.
Good course
Good course. Some deep bunkers and tight fairways. Flat and easy to walk.
