Hidden Lake Golf Club - Old Course

I found the staff very warm and accommodating. The course was in great shape. Considering how dry a summer it has been it was very green. Loved how you are rewarded for good shots and punished for bad shots.

I was greeted by friendly staff all through the day.

Someone in front of us lost a club on the course.

We didn't come across it but there was an attendant driving a cart around looking and asking everyone if we had seen it.

That was great on their part.

The weather was high 20s C and the sky clear a perfect day for a round of golf.

the pace was good there was no one behind us pushing and every other hole we caught up.

Overall 4* - fun course to play from any tee deck, excellent pace of play and decent conditions - even with beaucoup rounds on this course. The on course beverage and comfort stations needs attention. No ice available for mixed drinks, most popular beer brands not available at 4:20 pm - sold out for the day! Worst of all was warm beer… eff that.

This is one of my favourite nearby courses.

There is just the right amount of trees to make it challenging. The staff are all friendly.

I forgot how much I paid but it was worth it.

The Old Course still passes the test. I prefer the Old over the New. Especially back nine with its variety of holes.

Fairways were relatively green considering the amount of rain, dense, and cut tight. I don't know if it was Bermuda grass, but had that low/dense look/feel to it. You don't normally get that in southern Ontario at this price point. Greens were fast, but a fair amount of ball marks. Lots of sand, but no water. The snack/washroom stands reachable from many of the holes is a nice touch.

I quit after 4 hours and 13 holes. We had to wait on EVERY shot. There was a fundraiser tournament and the Marshall was completely useless

I'll think twice about playing there ever again.

Course was amazing. Fairways dressed for the tour, priced for a casual round, can’t ask for anything better!

Amenities on course not available. A little too expensive.

Our tee time was 8:55am, we teed off at 8:55am on the dot. We were treated like we were 10mins late by the staff. Me and my friend were partnered up with two members of Hidden Lakes (Clublink) and played at a perfectly reasonable pace without hitting into the group ahead of us. From hole three and on, a threesome of perceived members of Hidden Lakes were playing dangerously close to us and not calling out fore to warn us of arrant shots that came close to hitting us on more than one occasion. At hole #5, an overly aggressive “member”, - dressed in a large brimmed hat, white shirt and red shorts - drove towards us in his cart and yelled “Are you kidding me?!?! A woman hitting from the golds?? This is going to take all day!!” at the members in my foursome. They were merely waiting there for the group ahead. This was completely unwarranted and uncalled for. Then at hole #14 this same “member” deemed we drove our cart too close to the tee boxes (which needed much tending to) and decided to yell at us “It goes without saying, don’t drive the carts on the tee boxes!!!”. We weren’t even close to doing such, and as an avid golfer, I respect every course I’ve ever played on. This effectively ruined the rest of the round that was already being played under duress. This “member” ruined a great day of golf and put me and my whole group in danger on several holes. He continued to try and stare us down in the parking lot after the round. The course was not in good enough shape to warrant any behaviour even remotely close to this. I will not recommend, I will not return.

Nobody playing in front of us, mid-day on a Tuesday. The price was great and it included a cart too. Conditions were very good.
