About
Tyandaga Golf Course is located in the heart of Burlington surrounded by the rugged beauty of the escarpment that encloses it. The municipal course is popular for its player-friendly layout. It has a gentle nature but it does offer a fair amount of challenges. Bunkers are strategically situated along the fairways and greensides. There are also a few ponds and a meandering stream that comes into play on several holes. One of the most difficult holes is the par-3 ninth, which features hazards along the entire right side from tee to green. It is a beastly 168 yards but par is possible. The back nine finishes with a strong hole as well. Tyandaga's tricky final hole has out-of-bounds down the right side but there is ample room down the left side for the tee shot. The deep green is sloped front to back with a bunker to the front right.

PGA pin placements
The course was in really good shape. My only observation was that the pin placements were set up for PGA caliber players . Not your average John Q Public player. The experience is supposed to be enjoyable for all who play . By placing the pins in those positions on the majority of the greens took away from the overall enjoyment factor.

Absolutely ridiculous.
We booked a “WITH CART” rate. Only to show up and find out on a beautiful day that the carts were NOT available. So our choice was to walk the worst possible course to walk, or not play at all that day.
A simple message to those who have made a reservation that day that the carts would not be available would’ve sufficed.
Instead, we paid for 18, were absolutely wiped from the hills by 12.
Horrible service by the course.

Nice course
Enjoyed playing but the pace of play was awful. Took 30 minutes to play our first 2 holes (of 18).
Watch out for groups who really don’t know golf etiquette, including groups of children (12-14 years olds) without parents. The Marshalls did their best with these kids but they can’t escort them around. Perhaps a better vetting system is needed for booking tee times.
Overall
No cart girl in 18 holes. Very slow play, no marshals to keep up pace of play.
