OK
Not a bad course, in reasonable condition except for the. Cart paths, which could do with some repairs. Would play again, with good rates from golf now.
Great value
great course for the price. Pace is relaxing and course in great shape.
Ok but not like it used to be
I golf there 7 or 8 years ago and it was in great shape. Fairways are still okay, greens to but don't expect too much. There is road work at both ends of Bramalea so signs say road closed but you can get there from Old School Road heading south. It's getting pretty run down and I feel they're looking and waiting for developers to come in and build homes on it strictly my opinion. Shotwell and again for $48 with a cart you can't really complain.
Worst experience ever
Arrived 45 mins earlier to the course, but they won't let us check in even there was no one on tee box because we had Golfnow hot deal. They let us checked in 5 mins prior to our tee time but then asked for our car key as security for the power cart. Ridiculous. The other staffs were friendly, only the club house guy was rude.
bunkers need to be looked after.
no distance markers at the tees
requires some guess work.
overall it was nice day out.
Pretty Good round
Friendly staff and pretty good course conditions.
Will be golfing here more often.
Hot Deal was terrific value
We got a foursome at $34 each. Great value. Courae was in good condition except for the bunkers which still had some water from recent rains. Finished the round in 4 hours 15 minutes which is pretty good. Weather held up. All in all a nice round of golf.
Course is not bad but worst staff ever
Went here because there was a hot deal on GolfNow. This place just wants your money and leave. If you don't care for how they treat customers, read the last paragraph.
Unfriendly pro shop dude requests that we drop off our house/car keys in exchange for the golf carts. They keep them in a drawer with slots for each golf cart number to put the keys in. We hand them the keys to our other car and took cart #43, then at end of day forgot to get it back when we left which was our fault. When I called the next morning to have them check the drawer, a different pro shop staff advised he cannot find them and rudely says there is nothing they can do, even though I asked if they could reach out to the guy who worked the day before and offered my phone number in case they find it. Unsatisfied with the rude answer, we drove all the way back to the pro shop after work and found that the key was in the drawer under cart #43 the entire time. I've played many courses over the years and this was the worst staff I've ever had to deal with.
Anywho, we played the Blue and White courses and they were fairly flat with slow greens that were possibly due to the light rains during the day. Lots of wild grass beside the roughs which I'm not sure whether is part of the design or just wasn't trimmed. Started on Sunday noon and nobody was there which allowed us to play at our pace. Food cart only came for the first few holes and when we were actually thirsty for beer it never appeared.
"We're Closed"
I checked Banty's Roost website for closing times. It said they closed at 9 pm and also that the driving range was open from dawn until dusk. I drove there, arriving at 7:45 pm and was told simply "We're closed". Cars in the parking lot, people in the clubhouse. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
Golf Course is poorly run
This remains one of the most poorly run golf course in Ontario. The course is always crowded and what should take 4.5 hrs normally takes 5 hours a round. The course will not honor any of its deals and would rather play at Mayfield instead.
You get what you pay for
Three 9s are available but they all play the same. Relatively flat and straight forward. Bunkers were like hitting out of mostly dried cement - very firm; may as well have bene clay. Tee boxes are okay though I wish they flattened them out. For the price it's good for beginners but likely not for the experienced player looking to be challenged. I played early morning (8am) mid-week and got in a round in just over 4 hours - though I thought that was still a little slow for this course.
Do not play this Golf Course
8 minutes between tee times. Ridiculous.
Poorly maintained greens. No rakes for traps. Very little sand in traps.
Get this golf course removed from GolfNow. It makes you guys look bad.
Took 3:20 to play 9 holes and they wouldn't give the 2 University students I played with any sort of credit for needing to leave after 9.
Anyone wishing to play this course needs to seriously consider going to the Mall with their spouse instead. Way better use of your time.
Spend the same amount and play at lowville, Indian wells or glen eagle.
Just off the fairway, the grass is really high and thick. This is not how first cut of rough is maintained. Weeds all over including tee box. Grounds keeper are working while you are hitting. They have ear plugs on, so you can't even tell 4. This is totally against any labour law.
Talked to the staff and they think 68 bucks for this course is a fair deal.
Will never play here again.
Awsome course, but!
I really enjoy playing at banty roost. Everything was good, but the guys in green house seemed like they didn't trust our group of 3. 2 men and a lady. At least during my time i think they over booked that the pace slowed down with the group in front of us, and they didn't have anyone in front of them. We had to leave without completing the last 2 holes. They got to do they're timing more better. We started late, 10:50am was the first tee, when we booked for 10:30am. and I had to leave by 2:30pm but left at 3pm because I wanted to finish but couldn't finish, and I was late to my appointment. Great course, but they need to work on timing. And they need to work o customer skills.
I agree with your assessment. This is one of the worst course in Ontario.
