Banty's Roost Golf and Country Club - Blue/White

Booked for Blue and was told they have there own system of putting you on and don't care about what you have booked thru Golf now.

Staff is not very frioendly. Some of the Marshals are prone to shouting,behaving rudely.

The Club has very well maintained fairways and greens.

I found this course moderately challenging because of the 2 reasons stated in the subject. We spent the whole day there. It was really windy yesterday so it played like a links course and it made the guarded greens even more difficult when your shots were lower in trajectory. Definitely worth a try. The proshop staff was understanding and when asked for replay fee, they allowed us to play the next 9 course free. I'm sure it was due to the weather. Very nice of them.

Course was good value for the money, though disappointed to learn Golf Now offered a rate (supposedly at a discount) that was in fact more expensive than what I would have paid to book direct with the course. Unfortunate.

Good:
Course is fine, staffs are friendly.

Bad:
Three foursomes were still waiting for their 1st tee
shot when we got to the first tee box at our tee time.
From my playing partner's comment, the waiting is typical at the course. Adding fuel to fire, proshop kept sending 4somes over every 5 min behind us, you got the picture.

I generally take most people with a grain of salt but our expirence at Bantys Roost was a bad one.

Upon arriving early we wanted to hit the range when we entered the Pro shop and gave them our tee time they weren't imprssed that we paid through Golf now. We were told we couldn't pay for our round while buying range balls. The starter didn't seem to know which 9s we were playing. They didn't have enough carts so the pro shop employee was barking orders over a microphone to the young helper. The range balls were hard to find and I was snarled at when I asked where they were. Then to top it all off we drive up to the first tee to find 12 carts of golfers waiting on the first tee. 5 and a half hours is not a fun round of golf.

As I am a beginner I found the course challenging as did the more advanced golfers I was with. The complaints that the had were on the awkwardly sloped greens . Mean extremely sloped not the norm I guess. But it was fun and we all had a great time!

Nice course. Not too difficult but a good test of your golf skills.

I played with my buddy and it a fairly easy course I recommend it for beginners short par 5 good local beer.

The weather was iffy and it rained prior to tee time. I asked for rain cheque and they said contact golf now. I am a golf now regular and have always received rain cheques from other places so I waited and teed off after the rain. After two holes it poured again so I packed it in. Needless to say I won't be going back there.

The course was not bad.. staff greeting reduce the experience to average.

Greens were not the greatest, I believe this was because they had just opened up the blue which we played. Everything else was great.

We thoroughly enjoyed playing 18 holes at Banty's Roost. It is a very good course with moderate difficulty. The weather was great. However we were a bit disappointed at the condition of the greens. All the greens were not very smooth but had shallow ridges I guess perhaps due to still under maintenance because of the early season. It made putting a bit difficult but we still enjoyed the game. We will play there again.

Always enjoy Playing Banty's because it's extremely close to home and very reasonably priced versus other courses. Great course for all levels of golfers and offers 3 9's which is always a nice feature. Course was in Good condition for this early in the season, greens were getting better but in decent enough condition. You can play this course usually in less than 4 hours which is great, even when groups on the course in front or behind you can still play in under 4 hours on most days. Fun course to golf!!

Early in year. Expect conditions will improve as the season goes on.

This is a nice course and wide open with lost o variety over 27 holes. Greens were in decent shape for April. Course is flay and easy to walk.

Considering Ontario's weather at this time of year the course was OK , grass on fairways still dormant and greens a bit raw, but we got to play and spent time
outdoors, did not like the car key retainer for golf cart that barely drove, was still frozen, at the end of round the pro-shop staff had a hard time finding our car keys

Besides the refreshment cart everyone was in sour mood

I played my first round at Banty's Roost on Saturday and I had a pleasant afternoon. The course is well laid out, with thee nines which all lead back to the club house. As for pace of play, the course is a fairly long one, so unless it gets extremely crowded you are only limited by your handicap. The fairways are long and wide, but if you overshoot cutting a corner on a dog leg, you might bounce off a tree from time to time.That being said, They could still benefit from a few more trees as the wind can be a factor in your play. The greens vary from deceptively slow to undulating to oops that was fast. When you do get to the water, don't be afraid to hit the ball. As long as remember to treat it as if it's 10 to 20 yards longer from wherever you are, you should clear the water and get on the green. I can't wait till the summer to play there.

can't really review as it was high winds , lots of spring water , and just opened ......had fun never the less.......and course was fine considering the impossibility of improving it due to weather .
