Grounds were wet with many puddles, cart paths terrible shape, bunkers were full of water, very windy, couldn't finish 18 holes (completed 11 holes...I wouldn't golf there again.
Wet Mayfield Review
The course is in good shape thanks to all the rain. However, it was so wet that tee shots were plugging and there was standing water everywhere. The wind also played havoc on the course. It was also a very slow round. with a cart path only rule due to the water all over the course, I was surprised not to see any marshals on the course to push players to play quicker. The pace of play was not acceptable.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Worst course
Course is full with water , fairways are flooded with almost 2 inch of water . Staff never warns you . Power carts are on worst shape and they charge $25 plus for single guy .young boys staff outside are nice .

Fun in the wind
Played my second round at Mayfield this year. Usually not more than once. Conditions have been very good this year - very green and lush rough.
Played on a very cool/windy day…, a 3 club wind. That added to the challenge (evidence on the score card). The environmental areas really add (add up?) to the challenge of scoring well. Fun day.

Some of the holes are interestingly challenging
Don't be put off by the first couple of holes, some of them are interestingly challenging, nearly impossible for players with high handicaps. The fairways are a bit out of shape(end of season, maybe?), but the greens are well kept. I will definitely back for more.

Usually a good course
Mayfield is usually a good course, prefer it over bantys roost for the same price but this Saturday was the worst time ive had at Mayfield. They double booked a tee time which delayed us a good 10-15 mins ontop of the original wait time per hole. Then on the back 9 they pushed through another group which delayed it even more. Ended up being almost 6 hours for 2 of us decent golfers to finish 18 holes. For 80$ im going to go somewhere better from now on.

I am currently investigating what happened during your recent round. If there was a misstep on our part, I am committed to rectifying the situation immediately. We work very hard to structure course coordination (tee times and on-course supervision) to ensure playing times are at most 4:45 minutes. Please email me to talk about this.

Mayfield Review
We were supposed to play the Blue and Red 9 holes but we showed up to see 5 foursomes waiting on the 1st tee. There was a tournament that started on the Blue 9, but the course staff were nice enough to let us tee off on Red/White so we could tee off quickly. The course is in good shape and fair value at $50 to walk. I would recommend if you want a fair test with some long par 3's and some nice holes in the valley (White 9).
