From mediocre to bad now!!!
They wouldn’t rent out a cart since we booked on golfnow, even though there were a good 40 carts available. They told us that the white 9 was down for ariation but never saw any work being done and then saw people teeing off on the white 9, this after the 3rd consecutive red to blue. I do believed I have golfed for the last time here!

Great course
It was super busy that day which is expected with everything going on right now alot of people out on the course, so the play was slow, and they wouldn't let me go off as a single so that kinda bumed me out. But overall very good course, could be greener but still challenging and would definitely play it again, recommend it to anybody.

Overall great course
Overall great value for your money. Signage on the course could be better, sometimes it is confusing where to go next. The front 9 has very thick, high grass which makes your ball nearly unplayable if you miss the fairway. Overall the course is in great shape. I’d play again.

Pretty good course - Need to have clearer signage
Overall a good course. Interesting holes on the front 9, friendly staff, great covid-19 measures in place both inside pro-shop/ammenities hub and on the course. One thing that is a must is better signage. 80% of golfers were unclear as to where the next hole was. Signage is small and randomly placed. I think if clearly displayed it be much more fluid of a round

I am very proud to have been, for the last 37 years, one of the MANY family members that are part of this golf club. My review is to share a side of our beautiful family and business you might like to know. We'd love to have you as our guest!
Our property was originally settled by the Robson Family, Scottish settlers on the north ( blue 9) and the Nealy family to the south ( red and white 9). Rocks on the back patio of our club house mark the site of the original homestead. It was tradition for young brides to plant lilacs when they arrived from England, Ireland, or Scotland. Those lilacs, likely planted around 1830-40, still crown our patio in glorious pale lavender every spring. One can only imagine how challenging life must have been!
My husband Greg, the resident CGSA Superintendent, is one of his professional organization's longest-standing members. He's highly sought after for his counsel by many other property professionals across Canada, and is our company President. Greg is salt of the earth by default, and is literally in the trenches with sleeves rolled up with his staff. This says a lot about who we are. Greg's work is closely dovetailed with his brother Paul, who is instrumental in all areas of the management of the grounds as well as his youngest brother, Chris, who is the CSGA Golf Professional as well as Club/Food Service Manager -- he is the highly knowledgeable face you likely most see or know. :) The three are supported by a variety of skill sets from many other family members. I would be amiss not to about our excellent team including Kevin, (all aspects of managing maintenance) and Restaurant and Events Manager, Kim.
Our club was started by Gordon (pro hockey player/golfer) and Mary Ellen Delaat, Greg's father and mother. Greg has a first memory of walking the property which would represent his life's work back in 1957 when he was just two years old. He's been working on the property and ever since. ( while building my own film/content development career, I've also cleared stones, set irrigation pipe in the early years, then pro shop/bar between 85- 91, then co-project managed the development, constructing management and zoning of the blue 9- which made us now 27 holes.). No work is unimportant. When you run a small business you do what needs to be done. It's been an adventure!
Gord had 9 children and as a pro, played with many celebrities, including Cary Grant, and even a close family friend of members of my own family - Bob Hope. The property has such a legacy and interesting history. Gord and Mary had nine children. Mary worked tirelessly to make Gord the visible success he was. A common story of the generation.
Mary was one of my closest friends. My family knew her long before I knew Greg. The 9 families are the only owners of the club -- NO large parent corporation. We have been called a " mom and pop shop", but that is in fact, misleading. Running and managing a golf club is complex in ways most people would not believe.
Our team is highly trained in leading edge golf course maintenance, environmental, and management practices. We provide exceptional quality of golf within our guests' desire for affordability.
We deeply care for employees and our GUESTS -- ( we have guests, not customers). Greg has mentored literally hundreds of young men and women over the last 45 years who have fond memories of a first job at Mayfield Golf club. Many have in fact stayed in touch and gone on to exceptional careers. We continue to run a family-owned business that is above all, family friendly. Please see our reviews. Course is good but a little hilly to walk so if you have troubles walking book scary but beware it’s hard to get through to talk to anyone

Golf is alive and well during COVID at Mayfield
I wasn’t sure what to expect as a result of COVID but quickly found out that the owners were really well organized and ready to provide their guests with the utmost attention and care and overall great experience. Will definitely make Mayfield my go to course for the summer.
