Sawmill Creek Golf Resort & Spa
About
Sawmill Creek Golf Resort & Spa is southwestern Ontario's premier golfing destination. Located just east of Sarnia and less than an hour from London, the golf course is a conveniently situated getaway that feels much further thanks to an idyllic location along the shores of Lake Huron. The course is a par-71, links-style design that is challenging enough for avid golfers but still playable for beginners. The gently rolling landscape was enhanced even further with the addition of more than a million tons of earth, which was carefully molded to look as though it had always been there. The meticulously crafted mounding adjoins the fairways, providing a continuous flow throughout the golf course. In addition to the mounding, golfers will also face large bunkers, tall fescue, bluegrass rough, and desert-like waste areas. It may appear daunting, but Sawmill Creek is not as tough as it looks.

Waste of Money
I used to be a member here 12 years ago. It has gone downhill badly since then, they pulled it back a little, then it tanked again.
The two guys that were added to my group waited 10 minutes to get a drink before we started, as there was nobody behind the bar.
Our tee time was at 10:56am, but we already had to wait a couple of minutes before we could start. As we got further into the course, we waited longer and longer for the groups in front of us. Total time to play was just over 5 hours. We saw a group of 6 and a group of 8 playing a few holes ahead of us. We never waited on them, we were waiting on the groups of 4 between us and the big groups.
Course was dry everywhere, brown grass. Ground was rock hard. The only nice part to the course was the greens. I do wish people would fix their ball marks though.
Two of our group wanted to get hotdogs, drinks and chips on the turn. The food was ready for when we walked in, which was nice. They took one bite of the hotdog and spit it out. I cannot describe how terrible they looked. If I had to describe them, the hotdogs were cooked two weeks before and left under a heat lamp for all that time. It looked like you would get multiple diseases from eating them. The hotdogs that came out a second time weren't much better.
Nobody out selling drinks on the cart. Day was hot enough that they could have made good money.
When our group complained about the pace of play, we were told to call the pro shop because there was no marshall out on the course. After complaining, still nothing was done about the pace. Why bother say that if you won't do anything about it?
I'm never going back to Sawmill, and neither are the other 3 guys I played with. Brutal experience, I felt like I was robbed. There are so many other courses in the area to get a better experience.
The return of Sawmill
Huge improvements and gains on the condition of the course. A great links style course. Don't miss out on this one.
Sawmill on the comeback!
New ownership investing in the course. Maintenance and upkeep shows. Nice link style course with challenging but fair layout. Worth the visit!
Nice day to golg
The course continues to improve and all the hard work is paying off. It’s in very good shape. We will be back again.

The greens and fairways were in good shape. Money needs to be spent on the sand traps and cart paths.
Good shape but expensive
Always enjoy this course and you can tell they have done some great work getting it back to top shape. The tee off box areas are a great improvement. Only set back is the cost, Driving cart and round was 85$ for the round plus approx 3$ booking fee on golf now brought the round total to 87$
Sawmill
Course is getting back to a great playing condition. The bunkers are a bit rough and they need work but the rest of the course is in great condition.
In great shape, nice and GREEN.
The only thing I’d change is having the forward tees further up on all Par 5s and a few Par 4s. Starting to see this on some courses now and it makes for more confident golf for women for sure. 400+ yards is intimidating - and moreso when playing with someone who out drives you by 100+. Greens were pristine and fairways also nice and lush. Best round I’ve had there despite the horrible weather we had.
Great shape
The new owners have the course in really good shape. Not quite it's old glory days but still a huge improvement
Sawmill is Back!
Greens were lightning, fairways were tight, rough was thick just off the greens yet there were a bunch of birdie opportunities too. The course was in rough shape over the last few years but it's definitely back and then some!
Won’t stop coming back
Great shape, layout and professionalism are the hallmarks of this great track. What an improvement over 3 years ago, my new Sarnia/Lambton fave
Don’t miss this track
If you think 6445 yards is short, wait till Lake Huron winds gust up. Great design and terrific track, the owners have put some serious coin in this place and boy, does it show. Staff is awesome, they’ve implemented ‘etiquette’ into the club so don’t miss out. For the few courses in our area, this one’s the best!
