Carlisle is fantastic!
The staff was fantastic and the course was incredible shape.
Also the attendant saw that we paid too much for a greensfee knocked it down and gave a discount on the cart. Apparently the new rates were sent to GolfNow but not yet adjusted.
Would definitely go back to Carlisle again.
Great value for money
Really great value for the money. This course seems relatively on par with the other courses in this group, such as Royal Ontario. The difference being, this course is almost half the price. Definitely recommend it.
Very nice course. Picturesque!
I am a 13 handicap and played from the white tees. I found that the greens were very reseptive but players are bad for not repairing ball marks. This seems to be a problem that all courses I play are facing.
Great condition
As always, the course is in great condition! Carts are fast and not gutless! Friendly staff and accommodating. Beautiful place to play a game of golf!
Course is easy to walk.
Overall a decent course with three nine holes to choose from to make up 18. What was disappointing and seems to be consistent is the pace of play here is slow. This course can be easily walked and finished in 3.5 hours.
Carlisle Golf Club
the course is in reasonably good condition as most kaneff courses are. fairly forgiving layout and easily walkable, can score well if ball kept in fairway, but the rough will cost you strokes. can get busy and stacked at times. good value for dollar if green fee can be had at $55.00 or less (walking rate). greens can be a little rough as ball marks are mostly not repaired.
overall 3 1/2 out of five.
Great scenic course you usually see in western canada.
Played all of the Kneff courses except Carlisle. Don't know why, price was fine and not overcrowded and only 22 km's from home. 27 holes. The North and east course is challenging from the blues and should be even more challenging from the blacks. My wife enjoyed it a lot and there were red and green tees for forward players. Long hitters will have trouble if not able to control flight. Greens and tees in excellent shape and greens are fast. Traps could use more fine sand but it did rain night before. Looking for to another outing soon.
Fore is a common phrase
Played the north and east courses which are quite different in style. North much tighter but both courses not a lot of separation between holes so fore is heard on a regular basis from adjoining holes. Each of the nines have some quirky holes that take away from the overall experience. East plays much shorter than north but both courses emphasize accuracy versus length. Pace for a weekend round was very good but would not rush back to play.
Friday afternoon with my son
Got a so so deal $65 with cart .Its been a few years since I played it course was in good shape greens were a little beat up.Pro shop so so need more staff I thought.Played North South combo
Good course - slow play
Overall great course, play was slow...waited on every hole. They should have a marshall out there to assist with people who think they belong on the PGA and don't....It's a beautiful course and the staff very friendly.
Course is fantastic! Very nice scenery and challenging layout.
I love this course. Extremely well-ran and maintained. Value is excellent if you get the GolfNow rate, however the regular rate of $65.00 to tee off before 7am any day of the week is a little stingy.
An honest and good test of the game
Love coming to Carlisle once or twice a year, for some reason always play well there. The greens were in very decent shape, the whites on North/South were up yesterday and that no doubt helped me post my best score in about 10 years 41-39 80.
Walked the course, easy to get around, lots of refreshment ops on a beautiful summer day, altogether a super day on a solid course.
Nice layout.
Greens need some work. Played 2 of the 3 nines and found the layout quite nice and tight. Got to keep the ball straight or you will end up in using a saw to get out of the trees.
very good golf course
they should have marshals to avoid people cutting in front, that happens twice that day
Outstanding Hot Deal Course.
I was lucky enough to play this course on a Hot Deal. I happened to walk the North/South course on the hottest / humid day yet. I came prepared. The course does not offer water at any holes on the course. The cart girl came by every 40 minutes. The course was in good condition. Impressive, given how often this facility hosts tournaments. We enjoyed the course. The challenges were there and the greens ran true. Can not complain when you get a Hot Deal at this course. One of my favs! The regular $ is also a good value. Staff are very friendly and assist any way they can. Ranger was very helpful and cordial. Try this course.
Play Somewhere Else
First timer. Booked the North course through Golf Now. Had to start on the East course because of volume. East is the weaker of the 27 holes. Questionable yardage on scorecard. Tee boxes are not marked with any definitive yardage markers, made tough on the par three's. Several blind tee shots on the North course off of the back tees to a point were you could not guess the yardage or width of the fairway due to over grown bullrushes. Forty degree plus heat and only saw the beverage service once, for last call on 15! Will not return at any price.
Very nice course, good mix of holes. North course is much difficult than the other 2 nines. Greens a bit slow.
Three nines to choose from, North is much more challenging, novices should avoid it. Greens are on the slow side. Good variety of holes with water on several. Very playable for high handicappers from white tees. Pace of play is fast. Nice driving range for warming up. No beverage carts before 11.
Unforgiven course for starters.
Very tight course and if you're following a group of rookies, good luck, got to wait 10-15 mins from the tee box!
Greens need some more care
I have played this course many times but not for a couple of years. The lay out is fairly straight forward. In this instance I thought the greens needed a lot of work.
The general lay-out is unremarkable but is a good test for the weekend golfer
Course comprises three nines, north, south & east, our foursome played north & east. North 9 includes an area of marsh ( two holes, par 4 & 5)
as hazards which encourage large concentrations of mosquitos, just another hazard I guess. Otherwise the course well maintained, greens good, speed of play satisfactory, generally
a good experience all round.
