Henry shadow dancing in the trap at Dragons Fire Photo submitted by ronsheldrick on 10/13/2013
Great course, excellent conditions. Played 430pm.
Be ready for the mosquitoes. they are ruthless make sure to have bug spray
It’s the Pace of Play…need to fix for 5 stars
I love the challenge from the back tees, need accuracy but nice fairways run out. Greens were nice and good speed. Just like my other reviews they need to manage the pace of play. Waiting on every shot becomes frustrating.
Great day!
Course is in great shape, fun course to play, allows some mistakes in your game and you are able to recover!
Racially Profiled My Friend
On a rainy Friday afternoon, my black friend and I walked into the clubhouse to pay for our cart and tee time. My friend is new to golf this summer and I invited him out here to try out this course. Granted he was wearing a tee-shirt and shorts, which I understand wouldn’t fly at a prestigious country or private club. Upon entry, what seemed to be the president or manager looked him up and down, didn’t say hello and immediately asked if he had another change of clothes. Again, this isn’t a country club where my fees and dues are already paid for… This is an instance of outright refusal of two paying customers for the sake of a shirt and shorts. He asked us where we lived and wanted to see if he could change into a new set of clothes, our tee time is 3:05pm. Grow the game. Grow up. It’s raining, there’s nobody behind us for the remainder of the day. The course isn’t going onto Golf Digests Top 100, so let the guy play. The entire situation reeked of racial profiling as the groups ahead of us weren’t nearly as “professional” either (Untucked shirts).
Do Better.
Really ?
You should have told your friend that there is a dress code at any decent golf course... and this one is well above that.
Don't blame your stupidity on others and shame on you for pulling the race card.
Are you serious?? Any golfers knows there is a dress code you should have told your buddy right away, that you can't wear that in the course. It's a universal rule..get a life
Course conditions
Traps need to be worked on as a lot stones in them. We had lots of rain 2 days before so fairway were good and the greens soft for a change but very slow.
Great day!
We had a great day. Got a little wet for a few holes but no big deal. Course was in great shape and we had a super great time!
Dragons Fire- June 25th
The course and greens were in great shape. No concerns at all. Unfortunately we were stuck behind 4 gentlemen that were hitting from the blue tee boxes who shouldn’t have been. As a result we spent a great deal of time waiting for them to find their balls or for them to get past the forward tees. A 5 to 5.5 hour round of golf is not necessary.
Always Slow
Overall its a fun track to play and the greens are challenging. But, get ready for 5 hour rounds constantly.
Very Enjoyable
I am a seasoned golfer and thoroughly enjoyed Dragon’s Fire. There was difficulty (water, sand, woods) but certain holes were forgiving. Don’t have to use a driver on each hole. You will be rewarded for playing “smart golf”
Solid conditions
Course was in great shape. Tee boxes were flat and in good condition. Mosquitos were out in droves, bring mosquito repellant. Pin placement for Saturday were tight and challenging. Had a blast!
Nice course
Overall a very pleasant course. Surrounded with many varieties of beautiful trees. Tees , fairways and greens were in good shape. Many very undulating greens if you like that. . On course cart service was friendly and frequent
Cons: No clubhouse only fair weather patio Food service was poor and unfriendly.
Overpriced - seem to be playing COVID catch up with the fees
Have always enjoyed the course. Thought the price was high but thought maybe there had been improvements. But sadly nothing new. Conditions not as good as usual. Prime example was the bunkers looked like they had not been maintained in several days. Had to lift take and place. Not a huge deal but for $220 for my son and I you expect a bit more. Won’t be back this year.
Marshalls need to "marshall"
Condition of course was good, but pace of play could have been improved if the Marshalls cared to enforce the proper etiquette. Your position on the course is behind the group in front of you, not backing up into the group behind you. Some of this might have been caused by the course jamming in too many groups ( a far too common occurrence) but the Marshalls have to do their job.
Always enjoy playing Dragons Fire
Always enjoy playing this course as it's usually in great condition and the staff are awesome. The course will challenge the mid-handicappers at certain holes but overall a good course for all skills. Try to get here a couple times a year.
I agree pace of play might suck..but I want to go to a jays game..2 hours on go train return 20 bucks..2 beers 25 bucks..2 hour game , because of pitch clock..if I'm on the course for an extra hour, big deal..life is rough
