An excellent play
All holes are interesting, challenging regardless of tee block. Greens are fast and true.
Challenging at all levels
The course is coming along nicely since opening day. Greens are rolling true and you can get as much challenge as you like by moving forward or back to your appropriate tee decks which are all very nice. Some minor repairs going on some tees here and there but all in all the course is great, well maintained, and fun to play.
Better courses to play for your $$$$
Dragons Fire is a challenging nice course . I have played several times before . It seems this year they have increased their prices but have not maintained the course as in years past . The bunkers have little sand and are full of little stones that damaged a sandwedge. The greens were smooth but rock hard. Pace of play was 5 hours. For the cost of over $100 I would look elsewhere.
Beautiful Course, Tough greens
Absolutely beautiful course. The greens are tough so that keeps you coming back to try and beat them. The staff is so friendly from start to finish and even on busy days they make sure to keep everyone moving and happy.
Good Value
We have played here many times.
The course is well designed, is above average in difficulty and is in good shape.
Worth the trip to Carlisle.
Aggressive Marshalls
Played on the holiday Monday and had a great time. Only issue we had was we kept getting yelled at by the Marshall to speed up. We made the turn in about 2hours and 10 mins and had no one behind us yet the Marshall continued to tell us to speed up and keep up with the group in front of us (who teed off 20 mins before us). Clearly the Marshall was not educated on how long a round takes (especially at this course). Other than that, great day, course was in pretty good condition. Would definitely go back.
Once Great Becoming Average
The dragon is looking a little tired. I understand we have had cold spring but the greens that used to be fun to play are patchwork of grass types and every tee was moved up a tee box. It does not play to ratings when you take out a tee box on every hole. Prices keep rising but the golf is not getting any better.
Like They’ve Given Up
Last I checked there should be actual grass growing on the greens. But here there isn’t.
Second time playing this year. I gave them the first round back at the beginning of May given it was early and cold but minting had changed. The greens are hard as a rock, no ball marks to repair.
Won’t be playing again this year.
