Flamborough Hills Golf and Country Club - Woods/Lakes
About
Located in Copetown, Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club originally opened under the name Windsor Park in 1961. Since then, another nine, the Lakes nine, has been added and the Woods nines underwent renovations to make the golf course more challenging. In total, the club offers 27 holes of golf. They are divided into three nines that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Woods/Lakes course features plenty of water hazards and mature trees. The Woods’ second hole is Flamborough Hills Golf & Country Club’s signature hole. This tricky par-3 features an elevated tee deck and requires a challenging carry over water to a narrow, kidney-shaped green.

great november golf
Course was in great shape for november, greens were fast and in great shape, theonly complaint would be some debris on greens but not too bad.
Very nice
Great course, very well maintained, staff great, food excellent.
challenging...
We played the Lakes and then the Woods courses. The greens were challenging and the fairways were beautiful. Although it was quite cool out, the courses were in fabulous shape! We will definitely play this club again in the future!
A hidden gem!
Weather was horrible but this didn't stop my playing partner and I from enjoying this beautiful course. I wasn't expecting the mature tree lined fairways and rolling terrain. Frequent elevation changes made for challenging lies and club selection. Green were very wet but otherwise in great shape. Overall, I was so impressed I may get a membership there next year. Can't wait to try the Lakes course.
Catered to a tournament but was nice enough to give us a full 18 hole raincheck
I'm giving this course a "good review" to be fair but wanted to mention that they initially wanted us off by 12:45 pm, despite our prepaid Golfnow tee time at 10:30 am. I'm not sure how they expected us to finish 18 by then and they even said to come earlier, even though it was forecasting for heavy rains the morning (am).
So basically, by the time we finished the front 9 in just under two hours (there was a foursome ahead of us that was noticeably slow), the skies cleared up and the sun came out, which would've made for a much better back 9 round in terms of weather/conditions - however; because of the tournament, we had to leave!
So it definitely worked out for the tourney folks but not so much for the "Golfnow tourney" folks (my group; lol). Apparently at the last minute, some more folks had signed on for the tournament, hence why their 27 hole shot-gun start time got pushed to 1 pm
They were initially only going to give us a 9 hole rain check but we fought to make it 18; our reasoning was we came all the way from Toronto (so quite far) and also that it wasn't our fault that the tournament got pushed to 1 pm.
Had they not given us an 18 hole rain check, I definitely wouldn't have given this course a good review and that their customer service was pretty mediocre, borderline abysmal - but thanks to one of their staff who approved the 18 hole raincheck, I definitely can't say anything negative about this course at all! I just hope we're now able to play it again by the end of the season (when the raincheck expires), as one of the challenges with my group is we're now not as available as much compared to before!
Waiting on hole 4 8 am tee time 10 min wait a hole
Monday morning 8 am tee time we had to wait on hole 4 until we finished 18..... Will not play again 10 min wait on every hole badly managed course with three 9s there shouldn't be a wait on a Monday morning second tee time of day
excellent day
My second time playing this course and I left more impressed than after my first round. The grounds are in great shape and the course has many challenges. The elevated tee boxes make for beautiful 27 holes of golf. Will definitely be back.
Interesting course for all skill levels.
Really enjoyed this course. Tough but not overly punitive. Played Lakes then Hills. Only criticism is there is so much difference between the two nines due to the Lakes being more modern.
Great Challenge and Enjoyable
Course is in pristine condition, both fairways and greens, tee blocks ok. Hills to Woods plays just over 6,200 yds, with some long par 3's and 4's it was a challenge to score low 80's, I play several courses throughout the season, and this rates as top notch for playing condition and course difficulty.
Shame about the staff
Course is in excellent condition but the staff on when we arrived, were so miserable
Much improved
Our 4 sum were very pleased with the changes and overall improvement that they made to this course. The fairways and greens are in very good shape.
The greens are a little on the slow side and could be made a little faster. No. 17 is a par 5 but should be a par 4.
I can'nt comment on the rest of the staff, but the 2 people we were involved with (front desk and starter) were not very friendly. they should be given some hospitality lessons. The people in these positions should leave a customer feeling good about the service he is receiving. Unfortunetly these people left all of us feeling like the place lacked that little something that can make a place feel special.
Great features!
I paid about very low price with ride through GolfNow,com and enjoyed the game. Almost everything was excellent.
Great Course.
This course is in great shape, With Bear like greens. And tight fairways
Although the warm up tees are on mats not what I would call a true driving range, but then again the average golfer really does not warm up.
foggy morning
The weather was not the greatest, it had rained a lot the night before and it was foggy. So the course was saturated making conditions difficult. I found the greens except for a few on the "woods" in very good shape as well as the tees. On a nicer day it would have been a much nicer experience! I played the course 30 years ago and it has greatly improved!!
Quality track
Very nice layout. Went from lakes to hills. Lakes greens very undulating and therefore slower... Overall course was in great shape and was a good test of golf.
old favourite
It has been a few years since I played here and I have to say that the new owners has done a great good renovating the course and club house. He changed a few holes entirely and left some of the holes just as they were.
Great day
Staff friendly, course in great shape pace of play right on time
Flamboriugh Hills Great Course
Course was in great shape. A few greens had a little winter kill but what course doesn't after last winter. Overall great course and will return.
Beautiful course but a bit pricey
Played all 27 holes this past week. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course was in very good shape with quick greens and well kept fairways. Quite a few blind shots due to the terrain and a GPS on the cart would be very helpful. Considering the rate of $76 with a cart for 18 holes I expected GPS on the carts. Overall a pleasant day, but many courses in the area just as nice for much less money.
Course is in great shape
Friendly staff _ course is in great shape after winter _ lots of blind shots as course is hilly with lots of different landing angles. Greens in good to great shape _ well worth the money and travel.
