Beverages took too long.
We did not get service until 12th hole
Best pace of play in years
Course usually runs close to 5 hours. Today we made it around in 3 1/2. Could have something to do with the fact it was raining and many golfers canceled. Regardless, it was a treat to play the course today.
Best course in the GTA
The staff is beyond friendly. Pace of play is always perfect and the course is great value for money.
Mostly the staff though, they’re all so friendly. Makes a world of difference.
Bit pricey but fun course in the city
Typical city course, leave your driver behind. But fun and very challenging.
A Royal Mess!
Lots of employees driving around but nobody actually doing anything. It hasn't rained significantly in 2-3 weeks but half of the sand traps were washed out. 80% of them hadn't been ranked (maybe for days). There was a few bunkers with wheelbarrow loads of sand just pilled in a few bunkers (but lots of footprints in it - so that's been there for a while). 2 tees were under repair (no sod at all).
Nice course - used to be better
Royal Woodbine is a nice course which has seen better days. It must be getting a fair amount of play these day and the course shows it the greens are in rough shape =- hey does anyone know what a divot repair tool looks like or how to use one?
Pace of play - a disaster - really 6 hour round 11:50 to 6pm, and really we asked the marshals to help out nada, so suggest you play during the week.
Tee blocks need to improve to warrant the price I paid
Greens excellent, fairways excellent, tee blocks need vast improvement to warrant the price of a round. Course is a gem, not far from down town and 5 mins from airport. Tight layout with challenging greens. Teeing areas need brought up to standard to warrant the cost.
Poor Condition, over priced
Played this course a couple years ago, they still have same tee boxes under construction. Greens keeper should be embarrassed with the conditions on most Tee Boxes. They are disgusting for the rate they are charging. Also, 2 refreshment carts on the course, and both parked together ?? Try driving around the course and serving the patrons
Overpriced for what it is
No coffee, no sandwiches, layups only, 5+ hour round. Staff were great!
Disgrace
This course used to be slightly overpriced, but worth it because it was pretty close to downtown. Now it's a disgrace. The greens are in truly dire shape; uncut, unkept, dotted with unfixed ball marks. The worse tee boxes in the city. There were 3 - 5 tee boxes in which I couldn't even get a even stance. It rained the night before my round, so the bunkers were in terrible shape, but they weren't marked as GUR or causal water. I'm not asking for it to be country club perfect, but to charge what they charge and to delivery a course that they have clearly put no effort into maintaining, it's truly shameful. Play Don Valley or Humbert or Lakeview or BraeBen.
Ball marks
I can not blame the course for golfers lack of etiquette. But pretty steep for this caliber of course
Great labour day round
My wife, my daughter and I played this round. We had a great time the course layout is nice. A few extra markers to find the next t-box could have been added. A few times we were puzzled as to where to go next
